What is a convolution? A beautiful explanation + visualisation

The youtube channel 3Blue1Brown has just published video on this topic with a very nice visualisation:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuXjwB4LzSA

It definitely helped me understand the convolution function. This is basically what convolution() does in avisynth / vapoursynth.

If you are impatient, start at minute ~8:00

There's also a video on Fourier transform

Ah, Grant Sanderson, I know his channel, I would suggest everyone to watch the linear algebra series as it will help everyone understand the beauty behind it and behind lots of the things we use in encoding. Keep in mind that Grant is a mathematician who developed his own python library to create those visualisations and his scripts are always accurate.
