Encoding a DVD:
- Even though I selected Force DirectShowSource, DGindex was still used. Is this on purpose?
- When I select subtitles, the NONE should become unticked / disabled.

buzzqw, why can't we just have a "save settings" button like AutoMKV? It is much more convenient than this hidden option thing.

HDConvertToX will not mux the encode after encoding has finished even though there is a line of command telling it to do it.

Also, when I specify a final file size, it uses that size for the video, not for the entire file like it should of had.

When will it automatically delete the temporary files? Why can't it be in a folder named temp like in AutoMKV?

When will the file extension bug fixed? When I specify x264+mp4, and choose a save location, the ending is in .avi. (The save file should be automatic)

Why is DGindex used for a H.264 file? Why does it have to extract the video file? For some reason it says my source video is in some non standard frame rate (the source's frame rate is 23.976)

Also, why is NeroAAC settings messed up. I set the quality to 4, which I assume is equivalent to 0.40 in AutoMKV. But the resulting file is much bigger (185Kbps than 110Kbps). What quality setting should I use for a quality equivalent to 0.40 and 0.50 in AutoMKV?

In the SMD version, the deinterlace function is gone.

For some reason, I can't encode using this GUI twice. I must delete and reextract the files to be able to encode again.

Pressing the anamorphic encoding button resets the resolution, which can be annoying sometimes.

Sometimes you can't get HDConvertToX to add DGAVCIndex to the queue, and without that it seems that you can't encode files.

I really want to use this GUI, because it is almost 3x faster than AutoMKV at encoding videos with MVDegrain 3, but there are too many faults on this right now that forces me to stick with AutoMKV for a long time. AutoMKV was just so damn simple, and that's what made it fantastic. All you need is 5 seconds (literally) to start encoding a video. In HDConvertToX right now, 50 seconds isn't enough. If this doesn't change, it will really piss me off when I start encoding anime, where I can encode 10 videos a day.

mod16.txt still seems to have no effect on cropping / resizing.

"Stream Level PAR" and "Container Level PAR" offer different methods of re-shaping the video image during playback.

Containers such as .MP4, .AVI, .TS and .M2TS favour placing their PAR signalling at the "Video Stream Level" (ie: within the video stream).

Containers such as .MKV and .MOV favour placing their PAR signalling at the "Container Level" (and remove all traces of PAR signalling from the video stream).

As an experiment, if you use MKVMerge to mux this elementary .h264 video stream into the .MKV container, the video streams 64:45 (1.4222) PAR signalling will be removed and automatically re-allocated to the .MKV container as 1024x576 pixels.

Indeed, if you use MKVExtract to de-mux the elementary .h264 video stream and then run it thru' DGAVCIndex, it will not be able to detect any SAR (aka: PAR) signalling.

Queue Tab:
Remove job and Remove all job clears the list only, however it does not really remove or reset the job. When one presses Add to Queue, the new job is again added to the previous one which was apparently not cleared.

DVD Source:
When I load the .ifo and select the largest PGC, the movie duration, frame number etc are displayed correctly. However, audio and subs are only extracted for the 1st vob, and the program then just terminates.

When I load the first vob, the movie duration and frame number are displayed for the 1st vob only. However, audio, subs and video are extracted and encoded for the full movie (i.e. all vobs) as expected.

update to http://www.64k.it/andres/data/hdconv...rtToX-SMD2.exe

new shining layout. A BIG thanks to SeeMoreDigital!
HDConvertToX if not specified a tempary folder will create a "temp" folder in its folder and create temporary files here
save file extension will look at container selected
fixed nero aac bitrate
mod16.txt, mod8.txt, mod4.txt will also apply to crop values

@flebber

please open the analyze.avs in virtualdub, there is any errors ?
hdconverttox use directshowsource, so be sure to have installed a decoder (haali with mpeg/ps enabled and ffdshow with mpeg2/dvd decoding activated)

in Utilities there is a "Make report" button. Use it

computing bitrate is different than automkv. a more precise bitrate will be present in future update

- SMD2 update
- mod16.txt copied into the main directory
- DVD source 720x576
=> Autocrop top 74 , bottom 74
This is not mod16 compliant, nor is the cropped and resized picture 720x300 mod16 compliant.

mod16 is fine now. Thanks.

Queue:
Pressing Remove all job only clears the text in the joblist, it does not really purge the job. When I press Add to Queue afterwards, the old job re-appears again in the list, plus the new job is added to the previous job which should have been purged.

Edit:
Hmm, I guess I have to press Save Queue after Remove job or Remove all job to purge the history.

It's the same, but now I noticed that it is only the subtitles command lines which are not purged and always get replicated.

I see something wrong using SMD2:
"C:\Program Files\HDConvertToX\applications\mkvmerge.exe" -o "D:\Temp\buuz.mkv" --default-duration 0:23.976fps --aspect-ratio -1:2.3530 "D:\Temp\hdconverttox_kfp movie 17 subs srt-uncropped.h264" "D:\Temp\hdencodertoxvid-pid2.ac3" "D:\Temp\hdencodertoxvid-pid3.ac3" --language -1:eng "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_4.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_5.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_6.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_7.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_8.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_9.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_10.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_11.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_12.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_13.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_14.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_15.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_16.srt" "D:\Temp\hdencodertox__subs_17.srt"
Using this test, the final MKV file is not created.

enjoy,
Mtz
