Why does my movie displayed thinner than the width given in its properties?
I think I tried this in the wrong forum before.
I have an avi, I crop the top and bottom black bars in virtualdubmod. I save it as mkv. The final resolution is 640 x 352. But it displays as ~444 x 352. It shows (5:4 aspect ratio) also in the properties. Why? I didn't manually set that. But it's probably why the video is tall and thin instead of displaying the way I wanted. I did finally fix it in mkvtoolnix by manually assigning a wider aspect ratio. But what is it that made virtualdub assign that odd AR in the first place? |
