Need advice on Building new Encoding PC.
I'm looking at building a new PC to video encoding and I use Handbrake a lot and other video encoding software.
Here's my problem I'm running an ASUS Z390 i9 9900K with a GTX960 card. I know that the Intel Arc cards are the fastest video encoding cards on the market from what I have on multiple websites and reviews. My problem is my i9 9900K accroding to Intel when I called them said it doesn't support Hyper Encode and only 10th Gen and up CPU's support that and so that means I wouldn't get the full benefit of upgrading my system and they also said there's a strong chance that the Intel Arc cards won't work at all with the Z390 motherboards. What I was wondering from a CPU stand point does it matter much if you get and Intel CPU over AMD as far as encoding speeds go. I like the look of the Ryzen 9 9900X but if the AMD stuff is known to encode video slower then Intel then I would rather just buy another Intel based system. So what I really want to know is what are your guys thoughts on AMD over Intel CPU's for encoding speeds. |
