Are your fans spinning?
Using Staxrip and NVenc and it says my Video Engine is at 97% load on my GTX 1060 but my fans aren't spinning on my video card! Is this normal??
Max temps in the low 60's. Also like the last few you asked what are your 2500 bps quality settings? Staxrip doesn't have a 2-pass mode? Thanks |

MSI GTX 1060? I read it only start to spin the fan once it reach 62'C. There is one manufacturer who set the fan to spin at 65'C too, but I can't remember which. To be sure, try manually adjust the fan speed to verify if it is fan hardware issue. Can't discount the possibility. Because nvenc chip (pascal) doesn't support B-Frame, depending on resolution/framerate/scene, 2500kbps might be a bad or good idea..... 2500kbps with DVD resolution is fine. 720p 30fps is still acceptable. 1080p 30fps with 2500kbps? Unless it is animation or the content has a lot of static scene......don't bother. General rule: Follow https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en youtube bitrate recommendation, but with a bit twist. Youtube bitrate recommendation is for H264. Since you are using HEVC, well, divide those values by 2? However, since Nvenc chip doesn't support b-frame, so....better set 60-70% of youtube recommended bitrates/resolution/framerate. Yup...didn't I type that version in the screenshot? As far as nvidia concerned, it is fixed in their bug report database. I kinda lazy to report/inform the issue still exists. Anyone wanna inform nvidia instead? |

Copy paste from afterdawn and Nvidia documentation x265/x264 multi-pass The video encoder analyzes the video many times from the beginning to the end before the actual encoding process. Nvenc In 2-pass rate control modes, NVENC estimates the complexity of the frame to be encoded and determines bit distribution across the frame in the first pass. In the second pass, NVENC actually encodes macroblocks in the frame using the distribution determined in the first pass. Last edited by JohnLai; 10th December 2017 at 11:16. |

So, even after using that chip to 100% for hours, don't expect to push GPU Temps high enough to trigger the spinning of fans, especially in winter and inside a cool case. The behavior of your card is normal.

Also, it would be worth asking Rigaya if he can support full depth for AVS input. |

Hello StaxRip,
Thank you for a wonderful program!0 I found a bug with 1.7.0.0 - For encoding using AMD VCEenc H.265, if I select .MP4 box as the output container, the file generated cannot be played. .MKV container works fine with H.265 Feature request: Is it possible to stamp onto the encoded file the same Date and Time as the original file? It would save a lot of time for archiving purposes! Last edited by grich99; 16th December 2017 at 17:45. |

I've seen instances where the order of the filters can cause faults. In particular, I had to be mindful of where the cropping filter was, and also any resizing filter. You can try to temporarily disable any cropping or resizing if you are using them, and set a small 1 or 2 minute clip, and then see if the error goes away. If so, then the fix would be as simple as rearranging your filters.
Also, the latest beta build may resolve your problem. I know mClean is currently at revision 2.0 and I am sure that StaxRip 1.7.0.0 is not up to that revision. Since you specifically want to use mClean then going to 1.7.0.4 will be a boost. I'm using 1.7.0.3 but copied in the updated mClean AVSI file to get the latest filter. The filter works great! |
