Since it is working for everyone else the question would be: "What else have you changed on your system?" The odds are high you'll find your problem there.

Also... since you're using the program for free, keep your attitude in check. Go to any "option" you prefer, but I'd be surprised if you'll be able to "go" without your checkbook. I'd be even more surprised if the output was even close in quality to what you get for free with BD-RB.

Some people's sense of entitlement is what I find "ridiculous".

What's even funnier is that you waited two days to get your DOOM9 account, only to make your first post a "whine" without any description of your problem, log, error report, or issue...

I just got 3 of these, left untouched in Auto-blank mode as superfluous clips which couldn't be blanked on the disc I PMed you earlier today.
(Seems that there's just too much space left on BD disks to accommodate all kind of crap.)

If it's not letting you blank them, there's gotta be a reason. Either is has IGS in a subpath, is linked to another MPLS that has IGS, it has menu flags of some kind, or it is "leader/trailer" info related to a menu. You're saying their telecined at 1080i? What disc is it?

I read your PMs -- but I don't see the connection? In those you were talking about CRF sizing.

Well let me put that one to rest, out of all the BD programs out there there may be one other which works sort of decent. Yours blows it away. Not just quality of image and processing speed, but versatility and functionality. Try fast forward or reverse with anything else and you will find they never can and often freeze the video.

And if I have had certain difficulty with the AC3 conversions, none of the others offer it anyway. If I can get it to work it would be like icing on one of the best cakes.

Keep up the good work JD, I don't think I'm wrong to say that more people appreciate your efforts then they let on.

But did you uninstall all the previous versions before installing the new one? That may make a difference. BTW, what version of BDRB were you running previously?

Nobody else has mentioned anything like this. When I upgraded to the latest version there was no issue whatsoever.

I must retract most of my post, and also give accolades to the development team...
Lack of sleep, and frustration in other areas, so my apologies..

I'm usually extremely capable to troubleshooting, but this one has me pretty good....

I'll do complete uninstall of all programs, reload, reconfigure, and see where that leads.

Yes, as most say, the app is light years ahead of anything else, and again, my hat off to development team.

Jim,

Nobody can help you if you don't give more information. I have no ideal what you are trying to say by "the "x264.exe" error".

You should post the log from your latest attempt (copy from the end of your BD-Rebuilder log file in your working folder). You should post your "BD-Rebuilder.ini" file. You should post the contents of your "inspect.exe" results. You must state the EXACT wording of the error messages that you see.

We can't help you if you don't help us understand the issue.

Yes, same disc I reported about the CRF sizing. The crf sizing is however solved. The disk is Enemy of the state, region 2.
3 files are kept in Auto-blank mode, which look like poor quality uspscaled and telecined 1080i@29.97 DVD clips. I don't find these related to a menu, but I'll check again if I find some link.

First error with BDRebuilder after 2 years: CopyDirStructure() 00005 1200

Jdobbs,

Thank you so much for your efforts and all the time you have put into BDRebuilder... It is an amazing little application and you deserve far more praise then you get. I have had good luck with the app as you are very complete in your documentation and the thing just works or problems are usually swiftly resolved in new versions. I did run into an error for the first time that has me scratching my head. It may just be the disk itself or something with the file structure but I thought I would provide some information and see if you may have some insight as to what is going on. No rush or anything but if you could decode the following error messages it would be a big help:
09/26/11 [01:33:47] CopyDirStructure() 00005 1200
09/26/11 [04:38:03] CopyDirStructure() 00075 1200

I checked file permissions and made sure I was running BDRebuilder as Administrator and everything seems to be inline. First time with this error so I am a bit perplexed as to what is happening. It is also worth mentioning I am reading the cloned disk as a mounted virtual drive using Virtual Clone Drive but I have always done that and been on the same version for six months now. I backed down to the previous BD rebuilder and tried again but end up with the same error code. Also no major system changed in the last few months... Codecs and everything are still the same so I can't think of any third party software that may be causing the issue especially since it is during a file operation rather than encoding...

Thank you kindly for any insight you may have on the matter.

Regards,
CannibalC

Odd one. The "00005" indicates a bad parameter that has been passed to a subroutine. It's happening in a routine that is copying the folder structure from the source to the destination. I just looked through the code. Essentially BD-RB does a directory scan using O/S calls and pulls the names of all folders, it then goes through all those folders doing the same stepping down the folder tree. The parameters are all provided by the operating system (as folder names).

Any chance you have issues on your source or destination hard drive? Try running chkdsk.

jobbs,

Sorry man... Actually I figured out the issue a few hours ago. Hehe you called it... it was a corrupt file on the cloned ISO file itself. I used teracopy to copy the entire cloned ISO to another drive and low and behold it appears there was a single JAR file that was unreadable. I rebuilt the ISO without the JAR and resumed the Bdrebuilder job and it passed without any issues...and final disc played perfectly. I'll be sure to utilize this process in the future if this occurs again. Usually I just verify the integrity of the m2ts files with EAC3to and move ahead if everything passes... Never ran into an issue with any other files but it must have been something on the original disk itself even though when I cloned it no errors were encountered. I even checked the hard drive I originally wrote the image to see if there were any issues with bad sectors... Everything came back clean and SMART didn't indicate any issues. Hehe must have been the original disk... perhaps an intentionally corrupt file to thwart simple clone backups.

Sorry for taking up your time.

Once again can't thank you enough for BDRebuilder...phenomenal app! As soon as I land a new job I'll definitely get a donation to you to further show my gratitude.

Regards,

jdobbs,

Am rebuilding one of my BDs, but the output ISO is 37GB. Second time this has happened with this particular disk. Here is my log. Any ideas? This is the only disk I have experience this with, all others rebuild with no problems.

I used search and FAQ and could not find an answer to this question.

Say I want to burn to BD25 but the backup is a tad over. I would like to do full backup, keep movie untouched, but re-encode the extras/supplements down as much as neeeded to meet target.

Can and how can this be done?

I did find that:
"Quicker" Encode for Extras means you prefer a faster encoding setting for the extras."

But does that mean it will reduce the extras down and by how much and can it be adjusted?

What happens if even after it compresses the extras it misses the target and thus kicks in re-encoding on the movie. Is there a way to force it to not re-encode main movie and more importantly can I adjust the quick settings to add more compression and then give it a go on a second try.

UPDATE:
Quote:
Ok, I did check hidden opts and this time noticed in there these options:

ALTCRF=n (n = 0-50) - CRF value to use for Alternate Movie-Only encodes (default=20)
FORCE_NOENCODE=n n = 0/1 - if set to 1, BD-RB will always use original video

But still unsure of 2 things. If FORCE_NOENCODE=1 does that apply to the extras as well even though QUICK for extras is set? And I assume a higher CRF adds more compression - correct?

2nd Movie & Menu's test encode completed without a hitch. Space Battleship Yamato shrunk perfectly, blanking worked flawless. Disc play's through them like they were normal clips, and proceeds to playing the next title. Love the blanking feature

The other night, I ran Star Trek TOS S1D1. I blanked 6 identical trailers(Star Trek 2009) 2.07Gb. It worked perfectly. The output was 22.1Gb. That's plenty close enough I thought for sure it would have been ~20Gb. Not sure why TMT5 displays the aspect improperly, but that's a different problem. Wish they'd get on the ball with Star Trek TNG A lot of people say they won't do it. Time effort money... I say the return would be worth it if they offered enough on the BD's Heck, I'd easily spend 1,000USD on the complete TNG BD set!
Awesome software JD

BD2DVD audio sync

I came across a sync issue today:
Source is BD with 2 DTS language tracks selected.
While the backup to BD5 was perfect, I found that on the DVD5 alternate (mpeg2) PAL output one audio track was offset by about 3 seconds, the other audio track was in sync.

For the BD source I found:
Audio track 1 = 2876 ms delay
Audio track 2 = 0 ms delay

Normally audio delays are 0ms for most BD's I think, so this particular case looks like an exception. My question is if BD RB is supposed to handle such cases for DVD5 alternate PAL backup, or if this is beyond the scope and I should adjust the delay manually, or put it aside...

jdobbs... I don't know if this is a previous issue, I set everything to auto for encode quality, used the movie and menu only options, and set to BD-9 but my encode came out to be oversized. I only kept one audio track and that is DTS. I had to re-ran that encode to BD-RB once again to get it to reduce to size. I deleted the inf file by accident already but do you know what the issue could be?
