first of all mencoder create an avi file with h264 and aac
then mplayer is invoked to demux

mplayer.exe movie.avi -dumpaudio -dumpfile audio.aac
mplayer.exe movie.avi -dumpvideo -dumpfile video.h264

then mp4creator is used
mp4creator.exe create=audio.aac audio.mp4
mp4creator.exe create=video.h264 -rate=framerate_of_file audio.mp4

the audio.mp4 is now the full file remuxed, i renamed it to movie.mp4

I was asking cause "-h" switch gives:

Code:
-create=<input-file> Create track from <input-file>
input files can be of type: .263 .aac .amr .mp3 .divx .mp4v .m4v .cmp .xvid
I wasn't sure if h264/raw is even supported.

buzz, thanx!

Hi buzz!

I really like this tool! Does mencoder have native deinterlacing and if so will AutoMEN support it in a future version?

mencoder have a lots of deinterlacer /itvc ... cababilities..
the main problem is the detection

i could add a simple list and user select the deinterlace pattern... but i want a better solution.. if any

http://www.64k.it/andres/data/a/AutoMen04.exe

added deinterlacer selection (user choice)
fixed ffhuffy encoding
change the behavior of P button, now play the queue or just the dragged&dropped input file, it also play it with the requested width/autocrop and also apply the deinteralcer requested (for better analysis)

Hi buzz!

When i set final file size to 175MB (encoding to XVID) i get a final size of 195MB every time. Is the audio not taken into filesize calculation?

Thanks for your time.

Yes i am, using the highest quality preset and i have set the audio bitrate to 128. When i drop the final file on gSpot, the video is 173MB and the audio is 18MB.

I suppose i can not edit the commandline automen is passing to mencoder because the xvids i create with it dont play well with my standalone player. I need to set packed bistream & adaptive quantization but thatīs another question.

launch encoding... then stop it at start

open xvid.bat and edit it...

BUT here the new version http://www.64k.it/andres/data/a/AutoMen07.exe

changelog:
added: volume normalization
added: new resize method (secret fuction)
fixed: removed nopacked from xvid (obsolete)
fixed: some tweak to xvid bitrate

Dont know much about mencoder but custom matrices if it applies. I encode motor racing (mpeg2>x264), so a fast motion option would be good for me at least.

Priority changer.

Also auto res at 688 is showing 688x376, which isnt divisible by 16. Its telling me that compression will suffer.

the resize is computed by mencoder and guarantee the exact AR

376 is MOD8.. so is good enough

priority ?.. i will look!

about matrix... isn't so automatic... i will think about

Nice project, how about self defineable presets
maybe you shuld rename the options selections like this H.264 (AVI),H264 (MP4), H.264 (PSP), XviD (AVI),XviD (MP4) or first the Video Encoder,Audio Encoder and then the Container format that would work for the combination (mencoders restrictions as smart dropdowns) chosen by the user and maybe even make the user aware of the choices he has for a given combination (comon sense decissioning) and then select/editable profiles for the Encoder tools, so something like SUPER but more advanced (and with a cleaner interface)
