Try this - start MPC-BE, show playlist and delete "Explorer".
This helped. I don't have an optical drive installed but apparently an SSD and five HDDs were causing the startup delay with "Explorer" playlist not deleted.

Sorry, I was checking wrong version.

Tested latest nightly and your solution works.

I suggest to avoid creating explorer tab as default in newer versions.

no they are images you can't change them easily. turning them into text first is usually the first thing that is done to change these types of subs.

Nope.
P.S.: the issue is solved already, it seems.

BTW, I only tested with a DVD ISO without its own subtitles.
Is this a bug or what?
MPC-HC can do this through menu item or CTRL + L

Will the test builds be switching to GGC 8.3.0 for ffmpeg like the 1.5.3 release?

Correction: It was a floppy drive, not hard drives, which was causing the delay. Disabling floppy drive in Windows device manager made MPC BE to launch instantly even with "Explorer" playlist not being deleted.

Intel 3D MVC problem

My setup: MPC-HC / MPC-BE (v1.5.3, build 4455), LAV Filters (0.73.1.30-git), MadVR. Intel NUC7i3BNK, Intel i3-7100U, Intel graphics driver 25.20.100.6618. Windows 10 Pro 1809.

3D MVC used to work a few week ago with the earlier Intel driver (v 6577). Now, when I start playback of an iso image, MPC-BE says: "Starting playback crashed". After 10 seconds or so playback starts without any audio. Changing playback position, and most any change, freezes playback completely. Closing the application thru task manager.

3D playback works nicely with Kodi. PowerDVD works but there is strange motion judder.

Is this LAV Filters problem or something else? Maybe caused by a Windows 10 change.

Sounds like a system issue. Try internal filters just to confirm. You may wish to restore your system/revert recent changes.

Internal filters work nicely (after I found the MVC setting). So there is a problem in LAV Filters current version.

Quick question : does MPC-BE built in subtitle search engine (shortcut : D key) still work ?

I get "No subtitles found" on every file even when there should be results, I get them when I look for them manually on opensubtitles.org...

My files are not even renamed or anything.

@Charky
I do not recommend using the search for subtitles on the online database in any MPC. I would delete it from MPC-BE, but people use it (I do not understand how).

Oh, okay then

That's a shame, auto search and download subtitles is a useful feature. Kodi's implementation of it works really well, but I guess it's easier to do for them because the movies and TV episodes are properly identified, while MPC-BE can only use the filename to look for the right file.

And of course, auto search and download subtitles doesn't work in Kodi if you use an external player such as MPC-BE

Guess I'll have to keep doing it manually for a while

The only thing you're doing by disabling the internal filters is using up a bit of extra disk space.

ryrynz is right, the internal filters only require very little disc space. If you don't want to use the internal filters, just use external LAV Filters or whatever you prefer.
