Chiming in again regarding my subtitle issues. I've only had luck converting an AVI accompanied with SUP subtitles. The issue however is that the subtitles are only partially shown. Say the subtitle is suppose to show something like:
Today is the day that we will party with AVStoDVD I will only see the "Today is the day that" part, but only a small portion of the top of each letter. Think cutting the letters in half and only seeing the top half. That is what I'm getting. Any suggestions on what might be the problem. Also, any chance to support SRT subtitles in the future? P.S. I'm using the latest AVStoDVD 1.2.1 |

Hi MrC, donīt know if you remember me(long time,no see...), anyway, iīve passed here just to see what progress made avstodvd and now it seems that i'm a bit out of it...
For example, iīve downloaded last version and i tried with a sample and putted one srt subtitle and when the job became done couldnīt see any subtitles in the movie sample... Doesnīt avstdvd recognize srt subtitles anymore? Best regards |

About subtitles: since release 1.2.0 I have removed SRT support, because I have switched from DVDAuthor to MuxMan as authoring cli sw, and MuxMan support only Scenarist Sub Script (*.sst) and IfoEdit Subpicture File (*.sup). If you have a txt-based subtitle (like SRT format), you have to: - convert to SUP format (i.e. using SubtitleCreator) or - hard encode your SRT using AviSynth's TextSub or - go back to AVStoDVD 1.1.3 which is last release supporting txt based subs. Thanks for your reply for my question, Mrc...
Now i have a new one, doesnīt avstodvd allow us to add 2 avi files for a conversion at same time? Does we have to previous join them because your program only converts one file? |

However you can automate the process of converting more "single" files by using the Jobs List feature. Bye |

First of all thanks for the software, this is the first time I have used it, but I'm having exactly the same problem as some other users namely,I've tried adding subtitles to the converted AVI to DVD, but when playing it back on my DVD player or computer no subtitles show. The option to enable English subtitles is available during playback but they do not show when selected. I used Subtitle Workshop to convert an srt file to sst. Using the latest release of AVStoDVD 1.2.2.

@wg & other user with problems with subs
Very important question: are you sure to have setup correctly video size in Subtitle Creator? Otherwise subs could go outside video frame.... a) Select "Formatting" and then "Video Format". Choose PAL or NTSC depending on your output DVD format b) Select "Profile" and "Apply Profile". Choose your favorite profile. Be sure to choose 16:9 wide if your video frame widescreen Bye |

Just to report, tested 1.2.2 on my new quad core and everything completed perfectly in just over 40mins with HCEnc.
Any chance that HCEnc could be set to be used with the other profiles? I prefer it over QuEnc. |

v.122 Run-time error '5' Invalid procedurecall or argument
Hi,
since installing version 122 I get an AVStoDVD error "Run-time error '5' Invalid procedure call or argument". This doesn't appear the first time AVStoDVD is run, but after the second time. I tested it on various PC, running XP Professional (german version). It appears on systems I had AVStoDVD running before and on fresh systems. Though, on some PC the error is in english (I think the fresh system), on the others it's in german. Thanks for any help, Filbert |

You can avoid the error message following these steps: - delete AVStoDVD.ini file - run AVStoDVD - click on "Settings" and choose your favourite settings (if you will) - check "Save current settings as default" - click "OK" Release 1.2.3 will be out ASAP to fix that bug. Bye |
