How do I utilize it? From within BD Rebuilder? Do I replace the native NVEncC.exe file there?

I was simply experimenting, hoping to reverse the process and go from REMUX to UHD Blu-ray folder structure and then to a smaller file size. However, the program apparently does not like if the 4K Blu-ray structure isn't from the original disc, since tsMuxeR cannot fix it to work properly with BDRebuilder.

You don't. It is a separate tool. Search his thread for info about it and where to download it from.

Keep in mind, like BDRebuilder, you need a compatible nVidia card in order to do hardware encoding. Otherwise the software encoding will take many, many, hours.

That is just way too many steps for a simple job.That is where the standalone program comes in handy.

But BD-Rebuilder 0.61.28 in the first Post of this thread includes NVENCCRE and appears to be dated April 2022.

Is there any difference??

Hi all, wondered if someone could help; I've been using BD Rebuilder for many years without issue, but recently a back-up hasn't worked as normal (or at least I don't think it has). The original movie, when ripped, was split into 14 files - this seems to happen on certain movies for some reason. When I went through my normal process with BD Rebuilder, it created the correct file size (as per my normal settings) but still split into 14 files - I'm pretty sure it used to recompile (if that is the right word) into one file.

It feels like I have a setting wrong, or maybe one of the external components incorrectly configured - I haven't reinstalled as yet, thought I'd ask here first?

Your movie might have fit without encoding. The disc should work fine, but if you wish you can use FORCE_ENCODE=1 in your configuration file.

There are many movies that are more than one part on the disc. That could be for several reasons. One of the reasons is burned-in on-screen text in different languages, i.e., the title of the movie, the cast and the closing credits. Another is for a strange way of doing copy protection, which I won't go into trying to explain here. The biggest reason is a release with two versions: theatrical and extended.

If the size of the movie fits on a 25 GB disc, there won't be a need to recompile. It will just be assembled into a single file.

I seriously doubt that reinstalling will fix it.

Since we have no clue as to what the movie is, further assistance is a little difficult to provide. Output log from BDRB and MediaInfo information about the original files would be a plus. Be sure and code wrap those listings when posting.

Many thanks both - sorry I wasn't clear, I'm not backing these up onto a disc, just onto my PC for playback on Kodi. They play fine, I just have to possibly rename them to play correctly - nothing to do with BD Rebuilder.

But it's just that until recently no other movies have done this before - they've all recomplied as a single file, so I was a bit confused.

I'll try force encode next time i backup a movie that is split into several parts.

You should be able to copy all of the M2TS files into a single file.

Strange that it completed pass one with no issue -- and then failed 3 minutes into pass 2... any chance the system overheated?

Have you tried running the command line from LASTCMD.txt from a DOS (command) window? You'd have to do it right after it failed to make sure everything needed is still there (e.g. the stats file).

I don't see an issue unless I'm missing something.

If you run it from the command window, at least you will see what error occurs within X264.

I ran it again with slower clocks, it passed. So I guess it's the computer, it hasn't had any problems in quite a while, but now it won't pass prime95 either.

Thanks for reporting back. I assume you are overclocked? Anyway, I will say without hesitation that X264 is the ultimate system overclocking test.
