convertfps

When virtualdubmod can't detect framerate should you use fps=29.97 or convertfps in script? And what is the difference between the two?

Yes, I used Directshowsource to import into VDUB using fps=29.97. What is convertfps used for? Does it do the same thing?

It mainly handles VFR, but I can remember cases when it was necessary (for some other reason) to use it for keeping audio/video in synch. Always use it in combination with actual (independently estimated) framerate as parameter.
