I made a full backup of Toy Story 3 from original region A BD to BD-25 using BD-Rebuilder default settings.

Everything seems fine, but the movie freezes every time that there's a specific language scene and plays back again seconds after.

Did anybody went through this ? Is it a BD-Rebuilder bug ?

Sorry if I insist with this question, but it's making me mad...

Error?

Overall progress reaches 100% but I run into a snag shortly after. Can anybody help me? Thank you in advance. This recently started. I am a newb, but have successfully backed up over 100 without a real issue. Thank you much! Oh and the only change that has been made to my machine has been attaching a new external hd. I highly doubt that has anything to do with this but you never know.

What are you using to play it? If it is a software player -- that is likely the issue.

I've done the U.S. version of "Toy Story 3" in both full and movie-only backups and it works correctly.

The error you're getting now is because the encode was never actually completed. The encode died with a "00075 2809" error. That is a "Path not found" error. Either the path is bad or the drive was somehow unmounted. It sounds like your external drive's driver is flaky -- it certainly matches the error... I'd recommend you start over.

I had the same problem with the expendables. The commentaries are all mixed in with the movie files and I couldn't find a way to eliminate the commentary files. These stream files with the commentaries are numbered from 00420 to 00431 but if they are deleted from the recording then part of the movie is deleted also. I could not find any one file that contained the movie only---somebody said that files 0004 and 0006 contain the 2 versions of the movie only, but if that is the case, neither of those 2 files will open and they do not contain much data either. anybody have any ideas?

I've done the U.S. version of "Toy Story 3" in both full and movie-only backups and it works correctly.
I'm trying to play it with software players ( PowerDVD, VLC, MediaPlayer-HC ) and with my BD player Samsung BD-P3600.

Did U.S. version have foreign language scenes ??

You're confusing M2TS files with playlists. I've done that disc... you have to select a different playlist from the "Other movie-only playlist" menu in BD-RB. The longest one that gets picked by default isn't right. Pick the one that is the correct length for the movie (I think it's 103 minutes).

instabil videopicture in joined multipart-m2ts videostream!

hi there,
iīm using the latest version of bd-rebuilder to encode a multipart bd-movie (movie-only). everything worked fine (win7 x64, LAVF Decoding active, "degrainmedian" as avs-filter), but while i was watching the rebuildet AVCHD-Disc on my bd-player "philips bdp7500s2" the picture seemed to be instabil when one m2ts-part goes over to the next m2ts-part of the joined movie-stream. older bd-rb releases didnīt had this problem, i gues. i have tryed two differend movietitels with multipart-m2ts video... no change!
could it be that the LAVF decoding feature causes this problem?

sorry for my english, but iīm a little bit out of practice.

thatīs all, thanks for comments!

PS: the source video-codec was once avc/h264 and second vc-1

If it were possible to burn AVCHD compliancy to BD-25, you could put 9-10hrs on it, and barely notice a difference. Unless you use a projector

I guess if you're after a quicker encode, then I understand. Myself, I prefer an exact backup.
HD audio, no offense taken

The problem is that you are using a filter. You shouldn't use filters on multi-part sources... the reason is that filters force the use of AVS (the LAVF switch is ignored). There is a problem in AVS files in which a frame or two is "lost" from the end -- causing DirectShowSource() to repeat in order to hit the correct framecount. I believe the issue is in HAALI, but I'm not positive. It's no big deal on most sources because repeating a frame from the end of a title isn't a big deal... but when you have a multipart source, it needs to be addressed.

To counter this problem, BD-RB always uses LAVF for multi-part sources (no matter how you have it set) -- unless, of course, you have forced it to use AVS by choosing a filter or resizing.

Bottom line: get rid of the filter and the problem will go away.

I have ripped the movie 2 times again with Fab and Any.
All play fine on my PC and my Dune HD.

So here are some pictures:

00004.m2ts is a part of the Main Movie and you can see that this1 is just 1pass encoded.

And here you can see the comparsion between the original, 1pass encode (quicker enc. f. extras enabled) and the 2pass encode (quicker enc. f. extras disabled)
Left is the original, middle1 is the 1pass encode and the right1 is the 2pass encode with Quicker encode for Extras Option disabled

Hi jdobbs,

same Problem again with Cop Out Bluray.
Main Movie has some m2ts Files, and some m2ts files from the main movie are 1pass encoded, because of "quicker encode for extras" is enabled. The part of the movie is very pixelated and unwatchable.

I think i should encode every Bluray with main movie in more than 1 m2ts file with "quicker encode for extras" disabled.

I will get "Cop Out" and give it a test to see if somehow it could use different encoding on different parts... but, frankly, I'm a little sceptical. If this were the case, you'd be missing parts when attempting to do a movie-only encode (it uses the same multipart list) -- and I'd have received a thousand bug reports on that by now.

Please send me the INI file that was used when you encountered a problem in "Cop Out". Also send me the INF file that resulted from the encode.

Also note that "Quick Encode" isn't the only time one-pass is used. It can be (correctly) selected as a result of "Automatic" settings, and applied to all parts of a multipart source. So the picture you provided doesn't mean anything to me. One-pass could very possibly be the correct method for that source.

But, as we all know, it's always possible there is something I'm missing... and if there is, I'll fix it.

Can you post the file: "VID_00081.AVS"? If it runs with LAVF, it would make sense that it was something in the AVS file.

Also... do you have MPEG-2 decoding enabled in your FFDSHOW settings? That's the most likely problem.

Quote:
1. Download and install FFDSHOW and the Haali Matroska Splitter. They are required for BD-RB to work and are free. After the install, run "Video Decoder Configuration" for FFDSHOW from the "START/Programs" menu, and make sure MPEG2 decoding is enabled. Do the same using "Audio Decoder Configuration" to ensure "Uncompressed" is set to "All Supported".

MPEG2 = libavcodec

Code:
#Created by BD Rebuilder - v0.36.04 (beta)
DirectshowSource("F:\BDMV\STREAM\00081.m2ts", fps=23.976, framecount=1440, audio=false)

Most likely then, some other software package that has been installed is intercepting and screwing up. Remove any players/codec packs etc...

I just completed a full backup of "Cop Out" with Quick Encode selected -- and everything was encoded properly. I'll try switching settings around since you haven't provided the INI or INF... are there any special settings in use I should know about?

Hi,

i've deleted the Disk and the Encode after encoding, so i cant show you the inf, or ini. Sry!

My Setting:

Full Backup
Quicker Encode for Extras
BD 25
High Quality (default) - 2pass
No reencode for Audio
LAV was disabled

The Encode runs fine, but the result was not good.
A part of the end of the movie was 1pass encoded.
It was very pixelated.

I get the Disc again today and tell you which m2zs file it was.

I had the same problems with Harry Potter 1 and 2.
The Extended ones.
So the extended parts of the movie where pixelated.
