Batch to me means adding 5 separate movies to 5 separate discs. You want to author a full disc, surely with a menu for navigation which AVStoDVD won't do. Theres lots of other tools on this forum alone which will do that.

- people like speed, with good results, that's a fact What strategy should a gui use for this ? A) convert separately, and author all together in authoring stage ? B) join the movies and subtitles like VDub append segments ? -- A) it is only effective if you use 1 pass 5 episodes = 5 passes each imagine more passes 5 episodes converted at 2 passes = 5 * 2 = 10 passes total takes a long ... long time B) it is the best way for fragmented movies, but less effective with episodes due to the limitations of : same bitrate..same samplerate...etc... correct me if I'm wrong Last edited by Delta2; 26th September 2007 at 19:31. |

AVStoDVD release 1.1.2 is available.
Change log: - Some bugs fixed - Added AviSynth Crop filter management - Added AviSynth Tweak filter management - Added Static Preview (experimental) in AVS Script Window - Removed "Deinterlace" option in AVS Script Window. In my first test the encoding took far longer than I thought it should with such a simple script and QuEnc. So I opened the log file and saw this:
<10/16/2007 10:43:43 PM> WARNING: Cannot find 'C:\Program Files\AVStoDVD\Plugins\MultiCoreEnc.exe'. MultiThread disabled. I looked in the plugins folder and found this: MultiCoreEnc_.exe Once I had renamed the file it worked as expected.

I'm finding 1.1.3 to be a bit confusing. I was hoping it would remember some of my settings, vid bitrate and Muxed MPEG2 Streams output (it does remember the audio bitrate). It also took me a while to figure out why HCenc wasn't being used even though I picked it in settings, although the ability to quickly change to a quicker (with QUenc) encode from the main page has it's uses. And for some reason the preview does not switch to 16:9 (it used to) when WS is chosen.

Very sorry: my purpose was to make GUI more friendly...

However in the next release I'm planning to stop CCE SP support (is anyone still using it in AVStoDVD?), to include HCenc in the installer package and to use HCenc as unique "Very High Quality" encoder. What do you think? Quote:

Havent tested much, but if theres no video source file loaded
and you hit the preview in the avisynth script window, avs2dvd throws an runtime error 53 with description file not found Path:\preview000000.jpg and then exits. Which is of course natural since theres nothing to preview, and why would anyone try to preview nothing, but i thought id mention it anyway for coding completeness |

@MysticE
Since the next release, I will replace DVDAuthor with MuxMan/BatchMux. That means multiplexing m2v+ac3 step is no more necessary. Will removing "Muxed MPEG2 Stream" choice cause you any troubles or may I do it? Bye |
