That just means the date is wrong on your XP machine. 0.34.02 doesn't expire until mid July. Correct the date.

p.s. sorry i know this is not a bug with bd rebuilder.
I think your settings in the device manager were changed for either your hard drive or disc drive from DMA to PIO mode. That would definately decrease the speed like that. Windows XP was notorious for downgrading the drives randomly. If my memory serves me right all you had to do was delete the drive that was having the problem, reboot, and let XP reinstall the drivers. Here's a good page that describes the problem and how to fix it.

Oh, I see now. I must've half read your original post. You tried Windows 7 and had the problem so you reverted back to XP. Anyhow, the problem could still be the same. I'd look to make sure that DMA is enabled in Windows 7. It also could be a driver issue. Make sure that all your drivers are up to date and properly installed. It would help if you listed the specs of your system. I'm using Windows 7 64bit without any problems.

On a side note... Jdobbs would x264 be able to utilize all 16 or 24 cores from the new amd server chips? I'm toying around with the idea of using the new amd server 6100 chips. I'd like to be able to get these encoding times down to 2-3 hours from my currently 10-12 hours. I always do 2 pass encodes.

I wouldnt know which further infos I could provide on this issues?

And problem number two is: there is absolutely NO audio stream!
Checked with tsmuxer as well as playing just the m2ts file.

According to the log audio was processed but there is no stream in the m2ts nor in the workfiles folder.

I re-run this title, setting audio to be kept as HD streams (which I dont really want as they are simple 2.0 streams) and now audio is included but the menu problem remains: the marker is not available and the film cannot be started in any way.

Would anyone know how maybe BDEdit or any other tool may help me getting rid of this initial menu and start with the "normal menu"?

You might try just copying the original menu's MPLS, M2TS and CLPI over.

That doesnt really seem to work.

First problem is there seem to be 12 (corresponding to the number of languages depicted in my previous screenshot) LARGE menu files with each of them being some 100mb bigger than the converted file which leads me to an oversized backup if i copied ALL of them.

Why copying all of them you might ask: simply because i have no way of knowing which one corresponds to my chosen language in the first menu.

I then copied the first 4 files and it seems like they are in the same order as the language options are presented in the first menu screen and since i wanted the thir option the third menu may be the correct one for me.
So the oversize problem was solved and i DID get a working second menu file to choose play and audio setup and extras and the like BUT when i select play it seems like the main title is loaded but the operation breaks and jumps back to the last menu i have been to (play, audio,...) so still no playback.

Because i have no idea of which files to copy as i simply cannot make out the proper system of how the files are referenced to one another i may have forgotten to copy a certain file but it's over my head.

I'll try an older version of BD RB some time but the menu of this title definitely makes rb fail.

If it fails with the current version, it will fail with old ones too.

I'm going to be gone for a few days, but I'll look at it when I get back. The fact that there is a large menu associated with the menu gives me an idea where the problem may be... unfortunately I'm probably not going to be able to find that disc easily.

HAALI Splitter isn't the recommended version is most likely your problem....delete and re-install version from the first page of this site.

Since you don't have enough head room in your rebuild to manually substitute the original menus DK, you're going to have to rebuild your flick from scratch.

If the rebuild is corrupting the menu "system", what I've done successfully is:

1) Figure out all the m2ts files in the STREAM folder that make up the menu. VLC media player will play the m2ts.
2) Of those m2ts, note the largest in "MB".
3) Add "MIN_M2TS_SIZE=n" to your INI file, but you change "n" to the largest m2ts noted above + a little "cushion". Let's say 50 to 100MB.

Now BD-RB will leave your menus untouched & they "should" function after rebuild.

FYI, I also had a concert flick that ended up with non-functioning menu buttons because I was keeping only English subtitles. After that, I now keep ALL subtitles just to make sure that wont cause a "menu failure" again.

Good luck!

Perhaps some help will be available once it can be purchased on or after the official U.S. release date of 6/15 (So that others of us will be able to try to process it)...

A question, I doing my first encode and noticed that even after switching to normal priority, BD-Rebuilder is only using one of my 4 cores. Is this not a multi-threaded? It almost looks like a single x264.exe process is fixed at only using 25% of even my single CPU core and the other 3 are not even being used. It saying almost 24 hrs to reencode a 43GB to BD25.

here are settings:

Code:
[Status]
LABEL=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
VERSION=v0.34.02 (beta)
SOURCE_SIZE=47201415168
SOURCE_VIDEO_SIZE=47201415168

REDUCTION=.515386310207334
RESIZE_1080=-1
AUDIO_TO_KEEP=eng;
SUBS_TO_KEEP=eng;enm;
BACKUP_MODE=1
MOVIEONLY_TYPE=0
QUICK=0
ENCODE_STEP=1
[01052]
AUDIO=100
PGS=10000
M2TS_TARGET=24326963200
RATE=17452
Adding some more info. People with similar rigs are reporting 6-8 hours to encode AVC but mine is already at 7.5 hrs and only at 35% complete. Has anyone seen speed issues like this? What causes it and why aren't all 4 cores being utilized?

And here is the logs, its only at 35% complete at this point:
Code:

My rig is a Q9550 running at 2.83 and I have 4GB memory and am running Windows XP SP3. Board is Gigabyte EP35-DS3R BIOS is F2. The task manager reports 25% CPU usage but the graph shows the first core is pegged to 100%, probably some task manager thing as I would not know why BD-Rebuilder would not be using 100% CPU for such a demanding process of encoding. AnyDVD ripped movie to drive and main stream is about 43GB and I am copying BD-Rebuilder output to another internal SATA drive.

At 37% now and showing these stats at bottom of BD-Rebuilder screen:
Pass: 1/1 Speed: 0.12X ETA: 12:39:42 FPS: 2.90 Frames: 076970/208959

Process tab in task manager shows x264.exe process using 25% and System Idle at 75% but the graph shows the first core pegged to top of graph window.

UPDATE:
So I ran a x264 benchmark to see if that was running any different and compared it to results I had back in Feb and their was definitely something going on. So I removed the Toshiba UDF driver since that was the only recent install and performance in the benchmark improved significantly (see results below).

But I am still seeing this performance in BD-Rebuilder, while its improved from 24+hrs to 16hrs, its still seems longer then most users report
After I removed Toshiba UDF driver and at 5% current progress - > Pass: 1/1 Speed: 0.14X ETA: 16:36:42 FPS: 3.32 Frames: 010440/208959
Now, I have seen reports of peoples encodes only taking 6-8 hours on similar hardware so why am I seeing 16hrs estimate to complete? Any suggestions or things to investigate?

You seem to get some sort of kick out of highlighting these situations! If you don't like the situation move on and stop embarrassing people into replying to the thread. and don't tell me you don't use Usenet. Sorry jdobbs but I know it is not a bug report but it has to be said. You can delete if you like.

Subs problem

First I want to thank the author for this wonderful software program.
It 's really a complete software but it's making me go crazy because I can't understand the reason of a problem.

I made a BD50 to BD25 full Backup of "My Bloody Valentine" title. I tried all ways to get the subtitles correctly works but without success.

The movie has 3 subtitles (all for the same language). When the movie starts if I press the subtitle key on remote, it's impossible to switch between the 3 subs. Symbol with the ban appears on TV and I can't swiitch over the subtitles.

I made several test also unchecking the "limit to one track for each language" and check "All languages to keep".

Tested on Samsung BD player and on PS3.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!

P.S.: If I do the same with a commercial software (spam) everything work properly.
