MPC Video Renderer Missing number of frames

When I play a 60fps video on MPC-HC and MPC-BE using MPC-Video Renderer, the number of frames is missing. Is this a specification?

I was wondering if EVR-CP does not lack the number of frames.

MPC-HC 1.9.21.19
MPC-BE 1.6.2.7089
MPC-VR 0.6.0.1883
CPU 12th Gen Core i5 12400
GPU Intel UHD Graphics 730

What you mean "the number of frames is missing" ?
Can you enable statistic and make screenshot ?

You mean you want to OSD the frame number? Or you mean frames are randomly dropped? Is it real CFR 60 fps, or quasi VFR? Related to null frames, maybe (wild guess)?

that's not unusual to see dropped frames at playback start as long as they don't increase there is no issue.

Yeah 欠落 means dropped, which (generally) happens from time to time no matter what player you use. It is even conceivable that null frames may be intentionally dropped: without refreshing/rendering the consecutive identical frames twice, the result might look better, more butter smooth. Maybe?

That said, if you're getting a lot of dropped frames, that may mean your HW & settings are not strong enough to handle that file (e.g. one with a lot of crazy softsub karaoke effects). In that case, you might want to try less CPU-intensive settings (e.g. a super high quality resizing algo with pixel-by-pixel RGB interpolating & sharpening or such may be costly, potentially increasing the # of dropped frames).

this is directshow dropping frames at playback start is to be expected.

dropping frames after playback start is very unusual and is clearly beatable.

mpcVR doesn't have a way to defeat sync issues AFAIK so these may still show up but at worst on a realistic setup shouldn't be more than every couple of mins.

Here comes the "problem"
The problem would be if there was a constant loss of frames, and as already mentioned, losing a few frames at the beginning of playback is normal behavior. Don't look for a problem where there isn't one.

Is MPC Video Renderer on par with MadVR or still in its infancy? The official forums are in Russian so I don't know much about it.

It's not on par with madVR but it's super lightweight and the Jinc implementation is quite good but it needs a better chroma scaler, bilateral or something IMHO.
