DGIndexNV.dgi HEVC
Hello
I would like to support the DGIndexNV.dgi HEVC but this tool tells me my graphic card is not supported. Could anybody share with me such a sample file please? Best regards hubble Last edited by hubblec4; 15th March 2018 at 23:35. |

Just out of curiosity, how will you use the DGI files?
Small file with one GOP: ----- DGHEVCIndexFileNV18 DGIndexNV 2053.0.0.132 X64 D:\Don\Programming\C++\DGDecNV\DGIndexNV\x64\Release\ H:\Streams\HEVC\8 Bit\MKV\HEVC2.mkv 831868 DEVICE 0 DECODE_MODES 0,0,0,0,0 STREAM 2 0 CLIP 0 0 0 8 RANGE 0 0 18446744073709551615 0 DEMUX DEPTH 8 0:IDR 0 2 0 1:TRAIL 0 1 2:TRAIL 0 2 3:TRAIL 0 3 4:TRAIL 1 4 5:TRAIL 0 5 6:TRAIL 0 6 7:TRAIL 0 7 8:TRAIL 1 8 9:TRAIL 0 9 10:TRAIL 0 10 11:TRAIL 0 11 12:TRAIL 1 12 13:TRAIL 0 13 14:TRAIL 0 14 15:TRAIL 0 15 16:TRAIL 1 16 17:TRAIL 0 17 18:TRAIL 0 18 19:TRAIL 0 19 20:TRAIL 1 20 21:TRAIL 0 21 22:TRAIL 0 22 23:TRAIL 0 23 24:TRAIL 1 24 25:TRAIL 0 25 26:TRAIL 0 26 27:TRAIL 0 27 28:TRAIL 1 28 29:TRAIL 0 29 30:TRAIL 0 30 31:TRAIL 0 31 32:TRAIL 1 32 33:TRAIL 0 33 34:TRAIL 0 34 35:TRAIL 0 35 36:TRAIL 1 36 37:TRAIL 0 37 38:TRAIL 0 38 39:TRAIL 0 39 40:TRAIL 1 40 41:TRAIL 0 41 42:TRAIL 0 42 43:TRAIL 0 43 44:TRAIL 1 44 45:TRAIL 0 45 46:TRAIL 0 46 47:TRAIL 0 47 48:TRAIL 1 48 49:TRAIL 1 49 SIZ 1920 x 1088 FPS 50 / 1 CODED 50 ORDER 0 ----- MAGA (Make Avisynth Great Again) Last edited by videoh; 16th March 2018 at 01:36. |

Hi videoh
I never heard about DGIndexIM and I'm also not an expert but I use DGIndexNV in my chapterEditor for cutting to get keyframe timestamps. (Also all .dgi files can be processed to chapters expect the HEVC format). This sample here is to short but thanks. I will send you a PM. |

Thanks for your email and the sample.
I bought me DGIndexNV so I have this user manual with the description of HEVC format. Maybe I need some info about the HEVC format stored in the .dgi file. Has HEVC also "I" and "IDR" frames like AVC? |

Yes ok, but AVC has also "I" and "IDR" frames which are keyframes but only "IDR" is a "full" keyframe and only there can MKVToolNix cut the video correctly.
I think HEVC-IDR is the same like AVC-IDR. Are CRA and BLA also "full" keyframes or the same like AVC-I frames? Last edited by hubblec4; 16th March 2018 at 21:54. |

IDR, CRA and BLA are all "IRAP" frames, ie. "Intra Random Access Pictures", which means you can start decoding from there. The differences lie in their usage - a CRA frame could be followed by inter pictures in coding order with reference frames not available to the decoder, and must therefor be discarded (TFD frames, Tagged for Discard), which is not allowed for IDR. BLA are quite similar to CRA, except they convey a special meaning that the bitstream may have been stitched at that point.
