bff or tff

Captured a bunch of VHS material lossless few years ago and just getting around to cleaning it up. With interlacing, is my material. BFF or TFF? it was created with:

Windows 7
Virtualdub
Lagarith codec
ATI 600 USB capture
Svhs recorder
Couple other hardware items in between as needed
Captured to AVI

What type of interlaced material will this create? TFF or BFF?

thanks.

Fyi. Did a one minute test in ffmpeg. Results:

frame= 1798 fps=4.5 q=-0.0 Lsize= 1078800kB time=00:00:59.99 bitrate=147308.7kbits/s speed=0.149x
video:1078800kB audio:0kB subtitle:0kB other streams:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead: 0.000000%
[Parsed_idet_0 @ 0000000002836fa0] Repeated Fields: Neither: 1796 Top: 0 Bottom: 2
[Parsed_idet_0 @ 0000000002836fa0] Single frame detection: TFF: 833 BFF: 20 Progressive: 4 Undetermined: 941
[Parsed_idet_0 @ 0000000002836fa0] Multi frame detection: TFF: 1763 BFF: 0 Progressive: 0 Undetermined: 35

Seems TFF but see some bff in there to.

Running a separate test

frame=10000 fps= 33 q=-0.0 Lsize= 6000000kB time=00:05:33.66 bitrate=147308.7kbits/s speed=1.09x

[Parsed_idet_0 @ 0000000000db90a0] Single frame detection: TFF: 7368 BFF: 45 Progressive: 67 Undetermined: 2521

Code:
WhateverSource(...)

AssumeTFF # or AssumeBFF
SeparateFields
BilinearResize(Width,Height*2) # Added
# Play source, if jumps backwards and forwards then needs other AssumexFF
EDIT: Above, Avisynth script.

thanks StainlessS. Either way it just plays thru half size. Never heard of that suggestion when determining bff or tiff. I thought usually the import method determined this but wasn't sure.

Thanks.

If You like, add eg BilinearResize(Width,Height*2) to play at normal size. [EDIT: it will wobble up/down a bit]

TFF/BFF governs placement in time of fields, if wrong way around then you would get jumping backwards/forwards because of being
out out of temporal sequence (during continuous movement).

It is the Standard/Often quoted, way to judge if Field Order is correct.

You used the ATI 600 USB card. It's TFF always.
BFF is essentially just DV boxes or DV cameras, rarely any capture cards.
