PotPlayer - problem

this player can be really good if a few things are fixed in it

1. jerky motion picture, falter, not smooth
1.1 I tried to change and image processing and not helps

2. crisp texture weak - you can not see a lot of detail in the image and depth no picture, no color depth

3. there is a problem with Atmos or TrueHD that is not working quality .and the big problem is losing fit to the lips after a few minutes
In movies with great weight

3.1 there is also a problem with DTS

I have been using PotPlayer for years and years... I can tell you it has none of these problems. Sounds like your system is not set up properly and either your filters and renderers need to be configured properly... also maybe you do not have enough CPU or processing power to play the files you are trying to play....

We will need a lot more info to help you

no problem of memory or CPU working on 2070 video card
CPU 8320
NVIDIA 2070

i wanted to buy a new computer for movies.
but it turned out that there are problems getting video and sound quality with AMD
it is also not clear which is better NVIDIA 3080 or 6800 AMD

Sound like a config problem.
I switched recently from PotPlayer to mpv.net and I like it much better. In the past I had better perfromance wich potplayer but now it's the other way around.

You can try out the portable version of mpv here https://github.com/stax76/mpv.net/releases ans see if the picture is the better here. Maybe it is a graphics driver problem if it looks the same.

Maybe this helps you decide which card is better for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QR9bj951UM
But for "Movies" you don't need a 1500$ card :-/

mpv.net

PotPlayer a player that can be good, but constantly changes
the HDR was improved in the last update without madVR

PotPlayer player does not have enough sharpness, contrast, weak shades of color+Sound problems
MPC-BE x64 = It has more contrast But lacking (shades +details+coloer ) but HDR is not noticeable + MPC-BE sound better.

limited in contrast , lacking shades + lack in details
this is a stage that all the players on the computer are missing

maybe it's because the player does not support 4: 4: 4 12 BIT
like OPPO or Panasonic

Can't play Blu-ray Disc or Ultra Blu-ray?
Not from a computer either?

1. there is an improvement in movement in front of PotPlayer here
but there remains a movement problem that may be related to a video card he does not have
24p True Cinema ( this is a difficult problem )

Sound only stereo, why is there no DD + Atmos or DTS?
and not quality stereo.

maybe it's because the player does not support 4: 4: 4 12 BIT

the question is which player does AMD or NVIDIA support?
these cards do not support movies at all, not like before
they do not have "24p True Cinema"
hence traffic problems

these cards were designed for more FPS and took the quality out for movies
Add Ray Tracing, DLSS and Reflex + NVIDIA® G-SYNC

Video cards support 12 BIT but the player does not support it
therefore does not transmit commands to a video card not 4:4:4 and not 12 bit

you can then adjust sharpness through a video card driver nvidia or player drivers

One thing missing is a 4: 4: 4 tuner driver in a player that will transmit a signal to a video card!
this 12BIT will give details in color
this will give depth to the colors
this will give shades in color

any ideas to adjust 4: 4: 4 in Player?

i know i'm gonna regret this but you can't really send 4:2:0 to the "driver" using a PC you send RGB which is "4:4:4".

the difference between 8 and let say 12 bit is precision the colors are the same.
all GPU starting with windows vista support true 23p and 24p(windows XP is incapable of doing floatpoint refreshrates) if you can't set it up properly that's your problem not the hardware.

how did you come to the conclusion that the player sends 4: 4: 4 RGB?
where is it written?
that I check in the receiver impresses 4: 2: 0

It is possible to tune a driver of card for anything 4: 4: 4 or 4: 2: 2 but...
from the player pc will come 4: 2: 0 to video card nvidia 2070
from the player of a media player will reach 4: 2: 2 or 4: 4: 4 and not 4:2:0

once it may have been so, today it is not
all video cards are invested and tuned to 60 / 120FPS games
Plus AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA® G-SYNC
no manufacturer invests in video card Or think of movies not real 24P

if you want 24p True Cinema with no side effects
you need to buy quality blue ray
or media player like SONY or ZAPPITI PRO 4K HDR AUDIOCOM CINEMA EDITION or ZIDOO Z10PRO

windows vista died long ago
Windows requires appropriate hardware that no manufacturer is willing to invest
because it costs money.
and they argue that there is no point in investing money in it because all children want is to play
in small screens and they do not understand image quality!

this is my problem and everyone's video cards do not have 24p True cinema (this is a difficult problem)
or a mechanism called true 24p

NVIDIA registers only 24fps and if it gives you progressive it only refers to
to troubleshoot with Interlace problem no for movies

I had a lot of computers + I went to friends and everyone had the same problem

Your problems cannot be solved via internet Support Forum, so please buy and use a „quality blue ray player“.

look what happens if you google GPU color settings: https://i.imgur.com/EAY30fM.png

these setting are BTW. completely unrelated to rendering.

and why i know the GPU driver gets RGB the render surfaces of directx are RGB.
maybe because windows is running in RGB and you can't render an YCbCr image on RGB both needs to be RGB.

because you are for some reasons unable to setup 23p doesn't mean a PC can do 23p and because you are unable to setup audio correctly doesn't mean the PC is the issue.

this problem is no longer a quality blue ray after OPPO 203
buying is not a problem, but there is no quality device

What's the connection or what's new in that you can change RGB or YCBCR
?

Wrong again, you write things without understanding what you are writing about?
What's the connection to me?
That I change resolution or color method it also changes in Windows
And it's irrelevant
I explained to you and wrote and you do not understand

Unfortunately there is no computer player that makes such conversions

driver direction for color or bits method is irrelevant!
the player needs a color converter to transfer to a video card

Color orientation in NVIDIA's driver allows you to transfer the colors that the player gives and decides.
It's also NVIDIA say

the fact that you change colors in the NVIDIA driver sees this in the receiver, regardless of whether there is a movie or not
it just shows that the driver is a color level that is being transmitted to TV

but if the film 4: 2: 0 will pass only 4: 2: 0 and you see in tv 4:2:0

do you think the driver will invent a billion colors for a 16 million color movie?

where will a video card invent a billion colors in 10BIT?
where will the color player come up with 12 BIT colors which is 68 billion colors?
you live in a fantasy

Where do you see NVIDIA declaring that their card has such capabilities to convert movies?

There are times when Dunning-Kruger really is the correct explanation.

I had to look it up.. Coming from an engineering background you would have thought I had come across that before...

And yes that is the best explanation

There can be others as well But I think we all agree that that's enough and not just here.

people are not allowed to see the reality and problems that exist in hardware + player
they can understand that there are problems with the products ?

what are you afraid of people looking for good products and enjoying watching movies?
Or they will remain ignorant ?

what's the point of a professional forum?
if it is forbidden to tell the truth or ask good questions?

just to show how good your question is.

8 bit to 12 bit is

uint16_t limitedrange8to12bit(uint16_t a)
{
return a*16;
}
