Just go on. Quality will be very good. Very Fast just means that BD-RB found out that it can encode with fast settings without compromising quality. It evaluates your source and the required compression and then makes this decision.
You can select other settings and waste time and electricity.

Just proceed with the Automatic Setting and tell us afterwards how the result looks.

If you want to be careful, just check the "High Quality" option. Honestly, you won't likely see a difference in the output when compared to "Automatic" -- but if the time spent in encoding doesn't mean anything to you, it can give you a sense of security.

Hi jdobbs, good morning. I was wondering if there has been any changes since the end of February that would break the creation of AVCHD DVD+R DL disks. February was the last time I created a DVD+R DL disk and it works correctly, I don't know which BD_Rebuilder release I used for it, sorry. The folder BD_Rebuilder created (DD5.1 640k audio) plays fine on my PC using TMT5, even though PowerDVD14 chokes on the ones TMT5 will play, lol. It is only after you burn the AVCD DVD+R DL disk that playback is broken. The disk will play in my Oppo93, but not using some other players or TMT5. It just throws up the please insert a valid disk and try again message. At first I thought maybe the "Strict AVCHD for BD-5/9" setting was not checked so I did a new encode with both settings on and off and both of the burned disks were unplayable. As a last resort I used the AVCHD-Patcher and that fixed the playback issues.
Thanks for all your continued hard work with this most excellent program, this is the first problem I've encountered in a long time, except for some self inflicted ones, lol. Let me know if you need logs or anything.

No nothing has changed since the last release in January. I haven't changed anything specific in AVCHD output in a long time.

Encoding length

While testing the videos "Expendables 3" and "12 Years A Slave" i run into a problem with the encoding length.

If I use alternate reencoding to mp4 the result of the encoding is as expected.
If I use reencoding to DVD-5 the encoding ends up in movies which encoding length is about 1 -1.5 hours longer than the movies itself are.
If you play the reencoded movies the first half part is the movie and the second half part is just a blank screen and silence.

These reencodings are independend of the encoders used (DGDecNV, LAF, ...).

My encoding settings for testing are always the same:

Blank black videos with multicoloured blocks

While testing the movie "Honig im Kopf" the result of encoding is a movie with a blank/black video with multicoloured blocks.

Encoding settings are the same as in the last post.

Do I miss something?

I have to believe you have something incorrectly installed. Uninstall everything and then install again following the instructions in the first post of this thread exactly. As a reference, I've done the US version of "12 Years a Slave" with no issues. Before you do, run INSPECT from the help menu and post the result.

Actually I don't think that there is something incorrectly installed 'cause i have done dozens of tests with this setting. Its just these three movies I have problems with.

Something's wrong -- because no one else is having this issue. Reinstalling is the most likely cure. Sometimes other software interferes with or intercepts some of the normal processing paths -- and reinstalling fixes it.

Thanks for a great program!

Just a question:

Is there an option to get "burned in" subs into mkv files?
Could not find it in Hiddenopts file
My mediaplayer can not find the subs in .mkv files made by BD Rebuilder.

From the changes.txt:
Quote:
September 21th, 2013 - v0.44.17
- Added code in movie-only mode that extracts
forced subtitles into an independent stream
and sets them to "selected" for playback.
- Added a new hidden option "FORCED_SUB_LANG"
that allows a user to select which language
is preferred for forced subs. The default
is "eng" -- and it will be also be used when
no forced subtitle is found in the preferred
language.
- Added routine to hard-encode forced subtitles
into non-DVD ALTERNATE output. It can also
include any subtitle that is selected to be
forced from the STREAMS list. Note: This
capability requires the installation of the
free external AVISYNTH filter SUPTITLE() and
its selection in the SETUP dialog. While the
SUPTITLE filter is free, it cannot be freely
distributed, so you must download it and
properly install it from this link:
http://www.zachsaw.com/?pg=suptitle_pgs_avisynth_plugin
Perhaps this helps. I have not tried it myself.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried option FORCED_SUB_LANG so I will go for the Avisynth script.

BD Rebuilder v0.50.14

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to a new version of BD-RB (v0.50.14). Changes for this release:
Code:
- Fixed an error in which HEVC encoding can
  fail on interlaced sources.
- Dramatically reduced encoding time for AAC
streams when keeping multiple languages by
  running reencodes concurrently. Especially
  useful in ARCHIVE HEVC/AAC mode.
- Corrected an issue in which secondary video
tracks could cause an error attempting to
  mux for HEVC archive backups.
- Added two new hidden settings for overriding
the quality setting in certain modes. See
  ALTERNATE_QUALITY and ARCHIVE_QUALITY in
  HIDDENOPTS.TXT.
- Corrected an issue in which restoring a
disc from an HEVC ARCHIVE backup could miss
some HEVC M2TS files and fail to reencode
  them to AVC.
- Updated the X264 command line to include
  an SEI indicating 3D (frame-packing 3) when
creating SBS 3D output. This should assist
in automatic recognition of SBS 3D on some
  players.
- Updated avs2yuv.exe to version 0.24m3.
- Updated the included versions of X265 to a
  newest stable release (1.9.4).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

@jdobbs
Thank you for the update.
For clarification:
New quality settings means 0=worst, 4=best?
Do the numbers correspond to those numbers which are created via the regular settings menu?

Has anyone else encountered this, knows how to fix?

Does this version allow forcing a subtitle track in Quick-Play rebuilds or haven't you gotten a chance to look at that yet?
