DGIndex would strongly benefit from batch-processing
The current functionality of "save project" might have made sense back in the DVD2AVI days, when indexing the video and demuxing the audio was a hell of a lot faster than encoding to AVI and was also not the primary purpose of the program. It obviously makes less sense now. "Save project" is better off being split into two functions. One would consist of the current functionality but with a new name like "Index video" or "Index and demux". The second function would keep the name but have a new function: saving the project settings to a DGindex project file. A completely new third function would be added that would allow a bunch of DGIndex project files to be queued up so that the user can index and demux all 82 seasons of Law & Order SVU overnight instead of babysitting the computer and manually starting each new project when the previous one finishes.

Did you look at Appendix B in the manual ? There are CLI options which can be batchable
Or SS's DGIndex Batcher ? http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=163369 |
