bff or tff
Captured a bunch of VHS material lossless few years ago and just getting around to cleaning it up. With interlacing, is my material. BFF or TFF? it was created with:
Windows 7 Virtualdub Lagarith codec ATI 600 USB capture Svhs recorder Couple other hardware items in between as needed Captured to AVI What type of interlaced material will this create? TFF or BFF? thanks. JR |

Fyi. Did a one minute test in ffmpeg. Results:

If You like, add eg BilinearResize(Width,Height*2) to play at normal size. [EDIT: it will wobble up/down a bit]
TFF/BFF governs placement in time of fields, if wrong way around then you would get jumping backwards/forwards because of being out out of temporal sequence (during continuous movement). It is the Standard/Often quoted, way to judge if Field Order is correct.

You used the ATI 600 USB card. It's TFF always.
BFF is essentially just DV boxes or DV cameras, rarely any capture cards.
