As I mentioned, no issues here.....after 7 mins it shows no dropped/repeat frames @ 2160 23p.....i was pleased at 1 frame drop every 6 days lol.

No AMD or Madvr custom res etc, all standard.

Have you tried amdcleanuputility-x64.exe? It removes more than DDU - worth a shot anyway.

ok,. did timings again, these make no sense to me at all, so here I should choose EDID / CTA or pixel clock #1?

ok, i chose pixel clock #1 - it did nothing at all, still shows 1 frame drop over 20+ minutes, i'm lost with this...what could I be doing wrong, could the GPU be trashed?

@oldpainlesskodi.... what audio renderer do you use? Your values look similar to mine, I gave up trying to get perfect timings and instead switched from "direct sound" to WASAPI.

I'm using Directsound as the audio renderer.

Odd, you have the same card (ish), and I get no repeat/dropped frames using the standard amd 23p (after 5-7 mins).

It just goes to show that even 3 computers that are very similar can have vastly different clocks with regards to audio/video.

Yeah, virtually the same mobo, chip and ram config too.

Very strange....

Could somehow enabling "auto lip sync" in my amp helped with this?

- FSRCNNX-16-0-4-1: is slightly slower than NGU Sharp High

But when "fbo-format=rgba32f" is set (similar to madVR's internal 32bit processing), then even the fastest FSRCNNX-8-0-4-1 version becomes slower then NGU Sharp High! (A bit faster than FSRCNNX-16-0-4-1 with "fbo-format=rgba16hf")

Cheers, I'll be interested in the results. Do you have an ETA?
And it would be nice to also include NGU Sharp Low/Med/High.
as far as i know madVR store results in 16 bit and 32 bit but math is 32 bit (FP16 is only something new GPU are good at) and it needs directx 11 or other newer APIs.

with close PSNR and other matrics the psnr is not that important but how the human eye perceives it. so it's as always not surefull to judge quality.

so when testing FSRCNNX in the past it wasn't massive worse or something it was just massively slower.
BTW there is also a tensorflow version this version could be up to 8 times faster. if that'S the case it a good reason to add it to madVR.

there is also a FP16 math version of RAVU which at least according to the creator is barely faster but it was complicated to create.
this sounds something totally worth testing.

Maybe... I just did a test with an HDR 4k Remux… I get a frame repeat every 18 minutes when I use Direct Sound.

But when I switch to WASAPI the "clock deviation" in the OSD either reports 0% or is not even reported since it's not measurable. When it reports 0% the repeats go to about 3-4 hours... although most of the time there is no value for clock deviation or drops/repeats.

This is the reason why I stopped chasing the "timing" dragon. Plus getting 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 50, 59, and 60 timings to all work with custom resolutions is a huge chore. CRU will let you change 23 and 29, but not 24 and 30. The only way I found to set custom resolutions for everything was to delete those "standard" timings in the EDID and then set up all 8 in the AMD custom resolutions. Then madVR can do it's optimize thing, and the time involved with it all is just not worth it anymore...

Crazy stuff. Like I said, I use no custom timings for 23p, and with AMD I get no repeat or dropped frames on my set up.

Anyways, when is Madshi back? anyone?...asking for a friend.

mine seems to be locked at 20+ mins regardless of what I do with CRU, I think my card is shafted as with indentical settings, when i put my 1080p AMD card back in I was all back to normal, hours, days in between drops.

When you say you are using WASAPI, where are you setting this exactly?

@oldpainlesskodi

I just did another test... I get the same results as you now... Your "amp" comment made me realize that you are probably using HDMI audio. So I enabled it on mine (yes I have it disabled) and set my player to use that (god my TV's speakers are terrible compared to my ancient Logitech's, even though they are actually decent TV speakers, LOL)…. anyway, I then got -0.00036% clock deviation and "no frame drops/repeats expected". At least that answers that.

there seems to be some "issues"
could be windows could be audio related
the deviations takes "forever" to claim down.

I use PotPlayer, it is in the Audio Settings and is the Audio Renderer

As for your card, it is working just fine. You just need to go through hoops to get custom resolutions to work. Or use HDMI audio.

@QBhd - cool. well, at least it's starting to narrow the potential problems down.
