I think I ran into a bug with "Hobo with a Shotgun". I did a movie-only backup and the audio is way out of synch. The audio starts too early when the movie beings; there should be about a 10 second delay so the audio starts after the first company logo, but it seems to start right away, this causes the audio to be about 10 seconds out of synch through the whole movie. I've never seen this happen with the other couple dozen backups I've done with this software.

When doing the backup I had to manually select the proper movie-only playlist of 00004, it did not pick the correct playlist by default (it picked 00143). Here is my config file, as you can see the audio delay seems to be missing for playlist 00004, I did not modify this file in anyway, it's what was generated by BD-Rebuilder. I have no clue if that has anything to do with the issue, but just wanted to point it out:

UPDATE 10/10/2011 - I re-ran the same project, this time without deleting any of the workfiles so I can provide any avs or meta files needed for analysis, just let me know. Again, the audio is out of synch by about 10 seconds with the new output. It appears there needs to be a delay to start the audio after video stream 00092 (company logo), but this isn't happening.

Please post "inspect.exe" log file. Most likely it is codec issue.

Since your source is less than a BD-25, there is no reencoding taking place. Why even run it through BD-RB?

Have to rip out extras to get size down to BD-25 size, the source ISO is over 40 gigs. Plus I like to get rid of all the extras and previews anyways.

I haven't seen many issues or comments regarding the blanking of features. What are peoples experience of the new feature? I've tried a couple of discs and had issues (some minor) ranging from not all extras been blanked, menu not working on another and one disc wouldn't even play in my Sony standalone.

That's why i always preview the auto-selected streams. To make sure it doesnt blank & menu clip or something i'd rather keep. Havent had any issue here with blanking

So did you process the original with something else before running it through BD-RB? All bets are off, if you did.

My experiences are for the most part sucessfull, but it seems the final sizing is all over the place. I think maybe BD_RB is not rescanning the m2ts files after you change the default blanking to include or exclude certain playlists. I do some BD25 disks that should need little compression to fit that are coming out at 91 or 92% full when all that was needed was to get rid of just a few gigs. Then on some disks like StarWars 1-6 the main movie is around 38 gigs, and maybe another 8 gigs of extras. I found that the TRUE_HD english track was 4gigs alone and the scrolling yellow text that is 1 minute or so in length took up 500MB. Not bad untill you see that it is repeated for 8 different languages and can't be individually blanked. I tried substituting dummy m2ts files but ended up with a broken menu or an unplayable disk. Oh well, i have had quite a few that did work ok after running a few times to get within the size I was targeting but Starwars never did work out. Most of my attempts were ending up with the main movie being around 12 or 14 gigs but when I gave up and just did movie only the movie came out at 18 gigs for the movie and 4 gigs for the HD audio for a final size of 21.8 gigs resulting in a BD25 98% full. I was happy without the menu if I can keep the compression bitrate down to around 12 or 13 cbr. I wonder if everyone else is getting around the same results?

I've noticed with some Blu Ray discs, the output size is sometimes smaller than ~22.5Gb by about the same size I've blanked. E.g. blank 1Gb, and it's 21.5Gb. So yes, the output size is somewhat erratic. However, I find it to be within reason. Ones that I've blanked, with NO_REENCODE, and then rerun through Bd-rebuilder, yield a better output size. Haven't tried star wars. I'm a trekkie :S

Looks like your progress counter needs fixing. It bugged on me on X-Men: First Class. Probably due to the fact that there's over 50 streams of less then 1 MB in size.

** it finished with a counter of 105% and something. However when the iso rebuild began the counter dropped back to 100%

What settings are you using? Was it a full backup, Movie and Menus, or Movie-Only?

Movie & menu's, auto quality. that's the only mode i use since its available. I'm doing another encode right now to see if it wasnt a fluke, and cause the cerebro mutant tracker menu clip probably got blanked by accident (must have missed it)

If counts for something, i do a X-Men First Class Full Backup and the progress bar never surpased the 100%, the rebuild works great like always

Did you do a full or movie-only backup as opposed to a movie-and-menus? If so, that means there is some glitch in the way I account for blanked streams.

It wasnt a fluke. 2nd encode exhibited the same behavior. Issue started with the encode of VID_00906 wich is the last "big" stream before 2 batches of streams that never exceed 0.30MB. Was a fraction of a second too late to capture an image but it happened again.

Hmmz cerebro mutant tracker still non-functional. Gonna try a normal encode tomorrow. Too late now

The thing is, on the backup 00335.m2ts won't start playing properly. It gets stuck at 00:00:00. It's possible to force start by pressing Fast Forward momentarily, but the file plays without sound. PowerDVD 11 only says "Dolby Digital" in its Information OSD; no mention of audio channels. Backup finished without errors.

In BD-RB Setup, "Use DEINTERLACER" and "Use LAVF" are ticked (no IVTC). I have one tweak in BD-RB .ini: "--tune film" for both passes. Backup finished without errors.

Unfortunately we appear to be working from two different authorings, as mine only has 186 streams to process.

It gets stuck at 00:00:00. It's possible to force start by pressing Fast Forward momentarily, but the file plays without sound. PowerDVD 11 only says "Dolby Digital" in its Information OSD; no mention of audio channels. Backup finished without errors. In BD-RB Setup, "Use DEINTERLACER" and "Use LAVF" are ticked (no IVTC). I have one tweak in BD-RB .ini: "--tune film" for both passes. Backup finished without errors.
