Program can't make autocrop.
For audio tracks, can select only the quality (0.05 - 1.0) for nero 1.0 = 400kbps for qaac 1.0 = True VBR mode 127 (see http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154233) |

Ran into another problem converting a DTS-HD track that is 24-bit/96khz to AC3. Eac3To keeps terminating prematurely. MKVToMP4 does convert to AAC correctly though.
Edit: Need to add -resampleTo48000 for DTS/TrueHD tracks that exceed 48khz. Last edited by Balthazar2k4; 16th March 2012 at 17:25. |

It would be great if you could 1) save the "MP4 optimization" setting as a default. 2) jump to the next file from within the "edit tags" window (previous/next). 3) reorder the file list 4) pause the queue in some way (at least after the current file is done) 5) enable tags by default 6) export all your settings/parameters/tags for one or more file 7) expand the "Tags" info (at the bottom) to show all checked tags 8) jump from "TV Season" tag to "TV Episode" via TAB 9) save the "TV Season" tag in the xml Keep up the good work! Tool is very handy. Thanks.
I want to make an m4v version of my mkv files that has the original AC3 audio as the 1st track, and the new AAC audio as the 2nd track. This is to get a version that will play the 5.1 by default under XBMC, but can be transferred to my iPad and still work. Is there a script I can edit to change the default behaviour? Thanks Last edited by Cephas; 18th March 2012 at 07:46. |

Mike_111,
1) save the "MP4 optimization" setting as a default. Need for some mp4 files. For repacked mkv optimization is not needed. Maybe I will make in the settings. 2) jump to the next file from within the "edit tags" window (previous/next). It is useful, but difficult to implement now. 3) reorder the file list Probably will be in future versions. 4) pause the queue in some way (at least after the current file is done) Difficult to implement now. 5) enable tags by default For mkv tag empty when loading files. If you load tags from xml, they be switched on. 6) export all your settings/parameters/tags for one or more file Save and load tags is already in the program Parameters are also preserved. 7) expand the "Tags" info (at the bottom) to show all checked tags To display the tags is a button Text 8) jump from "TV Season" tag to "TV Episode" via TAB ok 9) save the "TV Season" tag in the xml see item 6 Cephas If the first track AC3, then iTunes will not load the film to the iPad. |

Maybe will add an option on the settings. Quote:
"Mp4 Optimization" is not a tag. These tags are not specifically saved for the TV Show, to be able to load them and do not mess up the numbering and the name of the episode. You can give the name episode sXXeYY for automatic substitution of these values to tags. For example Fringe.S01E02.mkv - Season 1, Episode 2 Quote:
I'll think about it. |

Is there a way to both convert a DTS track to dd5.1!AC3 and keep a copy of the original dts in the same MP4 as a 2nd audio track?
Otherwise I love this program. Are there any plans to implement automated metadata lookup against tvdb, imdb or moviedb? This is lacking for MP4s on the windows side (only metax) whereas osx has a few options (iVI, Subler, iflicks, metax/metaz) |

Apple iPad mp4 formats question
I recently muxed together some ripped tv show DVDs into mp4 format for use on the new iPad and I have some questions concerning the subtitles and chapter files. I muxed everything together using MEgui as I didn't know about this program at the time.
Subtitles are in .srt format and chapter files are in .ogg directly from DVD decrypter. The iPad doesn't recognize either. Once I use mkvtomp4 and use the optimize button the subtitles work at least. Still no luck on chapters. Any suggestions? Maybe a different format? I cant seem to determine what formats for chapters apple uses or what atom information is. What is mkvtomp4 doing to the .srt subtitle file for it to work? Thanks for any help. |

MkvToMp4 can load the chapters only from mp4 or mkv file. Then you can copy them to another file.
For correct playback subs on Apple devices, the program makes a correction to mp4 atoms. You can load your mp4 file to MkvToMp4 and press start. This program will make the correction of the atoms. |

This is a great program that has saved me loads of time, however I'm having volume problems when converting AC3 to AAC if I use the default Quicktime 7.7.0 codec option the resulting AAC audio volume is far to low and if I use Nero or CoreAudio codecs then the volume is far to loud
