I tried several MKV files with tsmuxer and I always have an error like : "Invalid SRT format. "02D05FE0" is invalid timing info."
Coult it explain the problems I have with BD Rebuilder ?

I've done lots and lots of MKV conversions in testing with BD-RB. If the source is of a legal format that can be converted -- it will do it. But you have to remember that MKV is a container format. While most that I've seen around can be converted, there are too many variables (CODECs, etc) to say they all will work. If you get one that is H.264, MPEG-2, XVID, etc. with a well-known audio codec (like AAC or MP3), they'll likely work.

If TSMUXER says there is an invalid SRT... then the problem is likely an invalid SRT. You can't expect TSMUXER to fix a corrupt source.

If you try to run MKVs through TSMUXER you will find a lot of them that will fail because TSMUXER does not support compression (e.g. zlib), as is true with some players. When it is there you have to remove it. Lots of MKV creation software has that set as a default. If you let BD-RB do the conversion for you it will handle that removal automatically.

To find out more about removing compression see the compression option in this link. As you will see, the compresion might very well be the issue you are seeing with the SRT.

Just finished another project... lots of time on the road so I apologize for the limited feedback this last month. I'm out of that grind (or at least will be early this week) so I can start spending more time on BD-RB again.

By removing the SRT tracks, I have no more problem with TSMUXER, so clearly the issues are linked to these SRT. Despite that they work fine with VLC, they are something wrong preventing to use BD rebuilder and TSMUXER tools.
I found on a forum that it could be linked to blank line when a subtitle is displayed on 2 lines. I tried to extract the SRT with Mkvextract to check. No way. The SRT file is empty !

I'd consider the compression issue first. That's almost assuredly the culprit.

@laminar use Mediainfo to inspect your source file; i.e. header stripping or compression.

@jdobbs, I didn't really catch what you mean regarding the compression. I need to read more seriously the link you sent to understand I guess !

@hoju3508, I tried Mediainfo on a failing mkv. I got the following data on the SRT :

Text #1
ID : 4
Format : UTF-8
Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8
Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text
Title : complets
Language : French
Default : No
Forced : No

Text #2
ID : 5
Format : UTF-8
Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8
Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text
Title : forcés
Language : French
Default : Yes
Forced : No

The subtitles do not looked compressed. What about the audio? Is it compressed?

Any issues with resuming a job?

I have really never done this before, but I needed to take my laptop somewhere while it was in the middle of a BDRB job. The resumed video has a couple of unplayable areas in it with bad breakups. I reran the job from scratch and they are gone. Is that an issue with resuming jobs, or a bug with that function?

It should have no issues. All it does is pick up at the beginning of whichever pass you were on when you dropped out. I've done it hundreds of times. Just make sure you abort the job (don't just turn the computer off) so BD-RB can cleanly stop the processes.

I had an odd one the other day; not a rebuild failure, but truly an oddity. I was Backing up a BluRay of "W". The source folder was called "W" but the resulting rebuild ended up in a newly-created folder called "WD-2TB". The source folder ("W") was on a HDD with a volume label "WD-2TB" (Western Digital 2 Terra Bytes), so, it would seem pretty obvious that the new folder name was just copied from the volume label instead of the folder name.

Not sure if this is a BD-RB issue or a Win7-64 issue, or what. It's a pretty far-out edge case (not likely to happen very often), but I thought I'd report it just to get it in the record.

@RobertM
This seems to occur with input names that are short. Maybe 3 or 4 characters or less. I usually get INPUT, which happens to be the name of my source drive.

Just tested and it seems the number of characters is 2 or less for this to happen.

If the BDMV file is in the root of a drive, then the Volume Label is used. I think your case was because the folder only had one letter. BD-RB interpreted that to be a drive. Was the "W" drive in the root? I'll look at the code -- but I think any path that is shorter than 3 char.

No, it was "E:/Bluray/W".

Hmm... I'll check it out, but I sure can't imagine how that could happen.

not play the movie, or the theatrical version and extended version, the extras on hand, if.

Come back when u decide to use the original retail store disc (pirate). No retail disc uses a name like that.
