Once I found another good LG player, and Ch3vr0n helped me realize that Cinavia isn't used as much anymore...I decided to get a new one. That movie, plus others..all the transition errors are gone. For a bit, I was thinking JD really goofed in BD-RB. Nope.. So, I'm with JD..I betcha it's your player, too. Now I have a note on that player.."Don't play non-original movies before 2015 or so with this." with a description of why. The newer player supports SRTs much better and other features the other didn't have (Don't care about the "apps".)

What I'm hoping is coming some time soon is the ability to play a Blu-ray root from USB..or ISO mount from USB.. Then not use BD-RE so much.. Would be useful for Cameras and more. Dreaming visionary is fun.
I understand that players can make some difference but only the rebuilded version have small shutter problem. If I play original there is no shutter.
I believe that it’s something not 100% perfect.
Regarding player the OPPO is considered the best player around so I am not talking about low quality player

Experience has shown that the 'best' players are often the most picky ones. 'Nonames' are often more forgiving

Picky and OPPO normally does not mix

Even ISO BD /ISO UHD / Folder BD /Folder UHD / 80gb MKV / Atmos...

Any player that can send the raw audio bitstream down the HDMI pipe can play every audio format. It is up to the audio device to decode the audio bitstream.

Nothing is ever perfect. I don't care how often people use that word today. When you use a ripper then the end result doesn't have what the original disc does. That's why there are stutter effects. My older BD Player plays originals well. Probably TSMuxer also adds to it too, ...at least for older/some players. Not wanting to argue, The Best isn't always The Best. Again, nothing is ever perfect, done, final, cannot be added to.

That doesn't qualify it as "The Best". But yet, you commented about stutters. Hmm.. Wink.

Hmmm... I can assure you that genuine OPPO players running official software don't support .ISO image files!

Just trying a UHD disc and it finished fine but the colours are off - is there an extra setting I'm missing.

But... the rebuilt disc is on a BD-25 or BD-50 -- both of which have different maximum bitrates than the original disc.

In the main movie?
I had a similar issue but only in the extras of the disc.

There was only a main feature - Tosca. I did use Good bd-25+ setting as the disc was no bigger than a bd-50, so it might be related to that if you used fast encode for the extras.

The rebuild disc is BD-66 as the original
Only change is a subtitle replacement. No vídeo or audio encoding was done.

Appreciate this. I was wondering about that...seeing the list. I'm *not* up-to-date on all the new Tech. Oh, how I used to be.. Since I commented about BD root on USB.

Now the FF works perfect.
The REW works perfect at speeds > 2x. The REW at 1x and 2x i can see bitrate changing on oppo player but image is freezed.
You are on the right track

Can you just please test other issue on LAST JEDI.
At 00:02:05 in a scene transition i have another "non smooth transition".
The transition is when it moves from 00007.m2ts -> 00018.m2ts on the 00800.mpls.
So something is still not perfect on m2ts transitions...
Have you found the FF/REW issue on Dolby Vision discs ?
The experimental build of BD-RB that you have sent me was much better

No. The build I created for you to test just added the dolby vision track to the CPI() table. It improved things, but apparently didn't fix it. So I really don't have a good idea as to why you are having issues.

If it requires all the I frames of the dolby vision track to match those of the reencoded HEVC, that could become a problem for sources that require reencoding. I'd have to investigate how hard it would be to get around.

I may just add a hidden option to tell BD-RB not to include dolby vision, that way you could at least get an HDR version without FF/REW problems.

To All:

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? So far I think I've only gotten this report from FilipeAmadeuO. It would be nice to know if it is limited to only a certain player before I spend a lot of time on it.

I can confirm the FF/REW issue on dolby vision discs. I test "the last jedi" and the 4 James Bond discs.

The improvement you have done it’s on the right track.
I think if there is there is no negative side effect it’s better than the working version.
Why not add the Dolby vision layer as a selectable video ? Then uses can select the layer or not.

Do you have any jerky video transition between m2ts on LAST JEDI (for example) ?
