There is a serious problem with the encoding quality of the X264 encoder (x264.exe) included in the latest full download.

Please download this one (400kb ZIP) and unzip it in multiAVCHD\tools folder.

Build 723:

* Reverted x264.exe to r1336M
* Fixed rc-lookahead in HD-DVD transcoding mode
* Fixed all transcoding profiles (no weightp, no mbtree, etc.)
* Importing of AVCHD or Blu-ray structures is now much faster
* Added Czech translation (mlf file) by Radek Kříž - 2010 - "Any mistakes reserved"
* Fixed Romanian language id to "ron"
* Fixed a crash when importing structures, which have improper/added files in certain locations (like PLAYLIST folder)
* Fixed a crash when importing (network/USB) folders/files which don't exist (media disconnected)
* A lot of other small fixes and improvements

***

Transcoding profiles fixes are also applied to uncropMKV. You can get the .exe here, but make sure to update your x264.exe with the one from the post above (or download and unzip it to tools folder).

Thank you for all explanations. Long time not used multiavchd and many things changed in a good way. I found something interesing on my TVIX 6500. BR made with multiavchd have menu played in the same way like tvix is doing for avchd.

In which build was this problem first introduced?

It think it has something to do with 2passHQ not working as you remember. For some reason x264 would use rc-lookahead of 19 frames when only 14 are in a GOP... I believe it is caused by a bad x264 build (patched). Probably doesn't affect the playback quality in any way, but I wanted it to be correctly set to 14 frames.

Also all one and two- pass modes now work for HD-DVD transcoding. I checked them before the fix (some wouldn't work - just grey, green blocks and stuttering) and after the fix (all okay).

Weight prediction for P frames is disabled now and also mbtree is set to "no" for 2 pass modes. This eliminates all problems which I knew of. It is important to use the version of x264 which I posted in the previous post. Probably the problem appeared after build 716-717 with the change of x264.

Thank you for a very nice program.

While watching the movie, I wanted to return to the main menu by hitting the menu button on my Sony's BDP-S350, but it doesn't do anything. Is this normal? I only get the menu when I load the BD-R for the first time.

Do you have other buttons like 'return' or 'options'... It should go to the main menu.

With "Top menu" button, you can access to the last menu page.
If you press 2sd time to "top menu" button, you come back on the last access movie read.
tested on my Sony's BDP-S350.

Hi Dean

Just tried this build, replaced x264 exe with the one here, still takes longer than b717 to transcode 2 pass HQ. Here is the difference on the 2 passes, Pass 1, about 5% longer, Pass 2, 4 times longer.

What kind of content were you testing with? 1920x1080 or 1280x720?

Level (4.0 or 4.1) is just a flag in the stream. It doesn't actually make a stream compliant, although PS3 sometimes would accept 5.0 flagged as 4.1.

I'm not sure what your question is, but during remuxing the flag is set to 4.1 if user set that in Video group-box.

Okay, I have a dvb stream with Level 4.0 like *.ts-file and would like to make a AVCHD-Disc (Level 4.1).

The problem is that the program multi-AVCHD, "Force AVC/H.264 level 4.1 flag" is not functionally like *.ts-files. (after making AVCHD-Disc the Disc-Menu is in level 4.1 and the film is in level 4.0 and not in 4.1!)

Hi Dean

Had seen that but was confused by the term "video group box" you spoke of in reply before.

So am I right in saying that the force 4.1 flag option is what you meant as option in "video group box"
