Does MPC-BE contain a video decoder for ASV1 (ASUS V1) video? Peeking into the mpc-be64.exe, I do find that FourCC. But when I try to play an AVI file containing video encoded with that codec, MPC-BE seems to fall back to trying system-installed codecs.
I have ffdshow installed, and it crashed while decoding ASV1 was disabled; when I enabled it in the ffdshow decoder, MPC-BE played that video without issues. But if the MPC Video Decoder built into MPC-BE supports this format, I guess it should not even try to use ffdshow? PS: Maybe ASV1 belongs to a group of decoders which is by default disabled (unchecked) in the MPC Video Decoder configuration? Last edited by LigH; 13th March 2025 at 17:28. |
