madVR stuttering on H265

I have the latest MPC-HC and madVR.

Something strange happening. I get stuttering on HEVC files and not high resolution. Something like 1920 x 1040.

I use the same settings on a desktop and it works fine. This stuttering happens with the same MPC-HC on a laptop with GeForce GTX980M.

I have found that in madVR image upscaling it is set to DXVA2 and that causes it to stutter. If I set it to Bilinear, no stutter.

This does not happen with H264. Is this normal? The files are all 2K, no huge files.

Should the image upscaling be set to DXVA2?

maxwell GPUs have usually no HEVC decoder but a hybrid decoder which should not be used.

you can try to disable HEVC hardware decoding in LAVfilter so madVR and the decoder are not fighting over the GPU.

DXVA2 should be avoided if possible.

I disabled HEVC hardware decoding in LAVfilter and still the same problem.

It is resolved only when I set the image upscaling from DXVA2 to Bilinear.

My desktop has GeForce GTX980 and that works with no problem (image upscaling set to DXVA2).

feel free to post an image with the OSD to show the issue.

but DXVA2 should be avoided and your desktop card can't properly decode HEVC too.
