Hello,
is there any way to increase BDRB processing speed? My machine is a siemens fujitsu rx600 server with 4 x intel xeon 3 GHz - each of them can handle two threads. Even BDRB uses all eight threads the overall processor load is only about 42 %. How can I change that? Greetings from Germany |

[Edit] Be careful, though. Pass 2 uses more CPU than pass 1 -- and setting MULTIPROCESS too high can actually give you diminishing returns. Last edited by jdobbs; 10th July 2013 at 12:53. |

BD Rebuilder v0.44.15 (beta)
I've updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.44.15). Changes for this version:
Code:
- Added a new hidden setting. SUP_3D_DEPTH can be adjusted to add addition depth to subtitles Any value of 0 to 50 can be used. The higher the value, the closer the subtitles appear to the viewer. - Changed chapter detection in DVD import so that is if pulled from PTS headers in cells rather than IFO times (to correct for poor authoring found on some DVDs). - Corrected an issue in which the wrong resizing algorithm was used for downsizing 1920x1080 to 1440x1080. - Updated algorithm to provide a better starting CRF value when resizing to 1440x1080 and 720p. Only applies to one-pass CRF mode. - Corrected CRF prediction so that a quick hit does not result in an off-target final approximation. - Fixed an issue in which outputting to an intact MKV file from a telecined source could result in audio/video out-of-sync. - Added a workaround for a problem in ALTERNATE DVD-5 output in which a working path containing a "&" character could cause rebuilding to fail. - Fixed an issue in which importing series DVDs that have multiple episodes within a single PGC could have a continually increasing audio de- sychronization. - Corrected a problem in which certain very rare authoring circumstances could cause BD-RB to lock in a forever loop. - Updated BD-RB and INSPECT to accept an newer version of FFDSHOW (r4504) as "correct". - Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the latest release (r2345). - Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE to the latest release (r2345). - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes. |

I usually run an FFDSHOW release for a month or two before adding it to the list, and then start testing another one. Some of the issues I've experienced in the past took a while to manifest (needing some unique circumstances) and that's why I test it for so long. |

OK. So if I can't use PiP there is no point in encoding it onto the back-up 25GB BD disc and taking up space and reducing the quality of the main movie. Can anyone tell me how to exclude all the PiP videos from the BD-Rebuilder list to re-encode, please. |

You asked Yes, you said you "Prefer" free. But I was simply giving my 2 cents. It may be "Expensive", but it is a pretty versatile player

Discovered a problematic title: House at the End of the Street (2012), by 20th Century Fox. English DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, with English and Spanish subs. Disc contains both Theatrical and Unrated cuts by splitting the movie into several small files. A while back I ran a Full Backup of the disc on 0.44.xx (before 0.44.14) and the output suffered from very glitchy video. I decided to wait for a new version of BD-RB to try again later.
A couple of weeks ago I tried to make a movie-only "1080p with Intact Audio" MKV of the shorter movie on 0.44.14 (2-pass, target size 8100MB). The process failed during "Building Alternate Output Structure" with error message "ERROR in attempt to mux (MKVMERGE)". Again, I put the disc aside to wait for a new version of BD-RB. Today I ran the same MKV output task again on 0.44.15, with the same result. Here's the log: Code:

I am also getting a Failed To Rebuild message for Taken 2. (I've rebuilt many movies and never encountered this problem before...)
I have attached the log, although it doesn't have much information. Please let me know if there is something else that I can provide that would help. This is a wonderful tool and I truly appreciate all of your hard work with it! Code:
