Picturehouse movie The Orphanage having New Line protection

Hi

Since Picturehouse was taken over by Warner Bros, I thought a warning might be useful.

Thanks,

MOL

Hi!

Are you sure it has the typical New Line protection (XProtect) or, as with "Fool's Gold", a simpler scheme that can be handled by RipIt4Me?

Hi Setarip,

When I tried to use RI4M, the ripping window did not open. Even DVD Fab 4 did not work. I had to use DVD Fab 5 to rip it.

Not that it's important but, according to Amazon, this is simply a "New Line Home Video" release:
Quote:
Region: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. Read more about DVD formats.)

Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1
Number of discs: 1
Rating:
Studio: New Line Home Video
DVD Release Date: April 22, 2008

@manoflogan

As a point of information, the Region 1 version of "The Orphanage" contains no newer or "special" copy protection scheme. It can be properly ripped by the venerable DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4, or by DVD Shrink, or any other ripping program.

What Region number is your DVD?

If your DVD is Region 1, perhaps it's dirty or defective. If it's of a different region, it could very possibly have a diifferent copy protection scheme.
