At first I didn't see such a setting. On a whim, I clicked on the automatic and opened it again and there they were. Suggestion: Have all of the settings below automatic there, but grayed out. Then, when the automatic is turned off, they are no longer grayed out (without the dialog box going away). |

VFR detection incorrect
I've discovered that BDRB can handle H.264/4.2.2 videos and when the Backup is done, the recoding is done at H.264/4.2.0, which allows me to edit the files with VideoReDo.
But, I've run into an issue. The CW promo feed from 9/11 has no issues. But 24 hrs later, the CW promo feed is considered to be VFR, when in fact it is not. Both files are from the same satellite transponder, which is up 24/7. MediaInfo for the promo feed from 9/11: Code:

I wanted to go with something easier. Less SUP or SRT "complicated". So, I picked a movie I've merged only 1 SRT for. I kept the 1st Subtitle enabled.
Code:

Ha....I had forgotten.......that MP4Box doesn't deal with VC1. Or rather, MP4 doesn't allow for VC1. Those have to be converted. Next is SUP. SUPs are ignored by MP4. Which is why every time I check a finished project Subtitles of any kind are empty. Unsure why BD-RB is converting SRT to SUP.

I decided to switch to MKV & import. I'm well aware that I didn't have to switch BD-RB first, but...

Hellooo, hello everyone. I've switched over to MKVs for a bit since I know that accepts, or should, everything. I attempted to convert one of my MKV Movies, which the name doesn't matter, that has 2 PGS and 1 SRT. I've enabled all Subtitles in BD-RB's GUI. The output MKV only has SRT in it. I confirmed this with MKVmerge GUI and MPC-HC. Checking more files.

I know BD-RB doesn't add them. But could have been a typo in the BD-RB code that passes the info to mkvmerge. I'm checking with a little older version of mkvmergeerge see if that "fixes" what I've noticed.

Not sure what to do. LAVF seems to be working ok for me. As for the VFR scanning, you might try setting IMPORT_VFR_SCAN=0 in your INI -- but it should default to "0" anyway unless it has been changed.. If, though, MEDIAINFO identifies the frame rate as "Variable" -- it will do it anyway.

I thought BD-RB had been passing PGS (SUP) and SRT to MKV all along, but no. I had been converting my BD's to MKV and disc for a while, as well as importing MKVs to make BDs to get around Cinivia and other stuff. Not noticing SRT wasn't being retained but converted. OOps! Usually I'm more astute than that. Hmm.. May I sneak in *hehe hehe* a request? Mark SRTs as SRT in the GUI rather than PGS_XXX_Language? Like SRT_XXX_Language? That way we all know which is which, from beginner to advanced users?

That is what my recently checking was for. To keep SRT from either within the MKV container or outside of it but have it retained and usable with MKV/MP3 alternate. I prefer within, because some of my backups have multiple SRTs.

Just when is the check for LAV install done?
Quote:
I can send you a small sample that you can look at. I wouldn't mind so much if the resulting file was 29.97fps interlaced, but it comes out as 59.94 fps. Each frame is duplicated. Maybe a IMPORT_VFR_SCAN=2 setting where it means do not do VFR checking under any circumstances. |
