Is there a setting to "copy audio" instead of re-encoding..or is that not possible due to the fact we are splitting it up in 1 gig VOB files?

But log files are 2... and only first has failed...

BTW in the first one project, FFmpeg has both refused to demux the AC3 track and to encode it (as backup routine). I would suggest to run the m2ts thru TsRemux and fix it or extract the required video/audio streams.

If the audio is DVD compliant, it is already copied (demuxed, not re-encoded). For more details, see the Help section.

Not following..sorry for the ignorance. I'm converting a MKV with 5.1 DTS audio. I'm pretty sure DTS is allowed (compliant) . Iv'e checked and unchecked the box for adjust ffdshow mixer, but it still takes my 6 channel down to 2 channel.

1. Not all DTS tracks are DVD compliant. I.e. 24 bit resolution DTS tracks are not DVD compliant (thus AVStoDVD re-encodes it).

2. Mixer: have you installed AC3Filter too, other than ffdshow? If yes, uninstall it.

3. What is your operating system? If W7, than install Preferred Filter Tweaker and select ffdshow as AC3 decoder.

4. Post the project log file

Thus the remaining option is to setup both AC3Filter and ffdshow mixer as 5+1 output.

(I have no W7 system, so I can only quote other AVStoDVD+W7 users experience in this thread or outside Doom9).

Just open TsRemux, load your m2ts file, select the streams you want to keep and then remux to output file.

Could someone please assist me in getting 6 channel audio from a 6 channel audio source?

I've tried the Win7Tweaker, no AC3 option.

I have AC3 installed, but have watched the toolbar during the audio encoding phase (FFMpeg) and AC3 is not loaded

I have went into FDSHOW Audio Encoder, mixer and tried same as input and 3/0/2 option..still 2 channel. Also, after the AVSto DVD process, if I go BACK and check FFDSHOW audio encoder options..it's back to 2/0/0 in the mixer option...even after changing it prior.

A screenshot of what I'm supposed to do would help.

I'm running Win7

TIA

AVStoDVD crashing

Hi MrC,

I don't know if it has been reported earlier but version 2.31 crashes on my W7 64bit when I enable the checkbox "Use External player" on the Paths tab in preferences I get an error Run-Time Error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument.

BTW Works fine on my other machine with XP SP3

If you have left on the 'Preferences'/'Misc'/'Adjust ffdshow Mixer Output at runtime' (default is on), then AVStoDVD will change mixer accordingly to project settings.

Please follow these steps:

- Uninstall AC3Filter and any other AC3 directshow decoder other than ffdshow
- Open AVStoDVD
- Make sure that 'Preferences'/'Misc'/'Adjust ffdshow Mixer Output at runtime' is on
- Setup your AVStoDVD project
- Make sure that 'Title Edit'/'Audio'/'Channels Mode' is '5.1' (it should be, if input title has 5+1 audio)
- Run the project
- Copy and paste here the project log file

Thanks for the W7 bug report. I must force myself to install W7... and add W7 to the supported OS list...

That routine checks if the reg key:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath
is present and has a value. If not, it checks the reg key:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AVIFile\shell\open\command
probably W7 default avi player reg key is a bit different...

Value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath is C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic - Home Cinema\mpc-hc64.exe.

Is there an .ini file I could manually set this value?

No ini file, but there is a reg key for AVStoDVD as well

Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVStoDVD
and you can edit (create new if it does not exist) the string 'PreviewerPathName'

Or you can simply select the 'Previewer Player Path' using the form 'Preferences'/'Paths' and then 'Save current Preferences as default'

Bye

P.S. your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath string is with or without ""?
