Not a fan of either of those for chroma, what determines if they're good to me is how natural they look and how balanced the colors are. I could tell you which out of those three I prefer, that's about it.. Without looking into it right now I'm guessing my preference would be NGU Sharp.
NGU sharp (Luma) looks good on Adywan's recent ESB release BTW. |

I cant understand why, but Im getting lots of repeated frames when I use any NGU settings for chroma upscaling, even the lowest. Luma is set to NGU sharp high.
If I use Nnedi 128 for chroma I get no repeated frames and rendering is approx 20ms. I also get repeated frames with bilateral sharp or reconstruction sharp for chroma upscaling. The only one I can use without repeated frames is Nnedi 128, I wonder whats wrong...? My card is 1080Ti and upscaling everything to 4K. Last edited by 70MM; 14th August 2017 at 07:21. |

sorry I meant to say dropped frames.
It goes crazy dropping frames if I use any of the NGU settings for chroma upscaling. Also goes crazy dropping frames with bilateral sharp or reconstruction sharp for chroma upscaling. The only one that runs perect without dropped frames for chroma upscaling for me is Nnedi 128. So I have to use the above with luma upscaling on NGU sharp high. 4K 1080Ti card. I would like to now use NGU for chroma upscaling but something is wrong, all it does is drop frames... Can someone help me trouble shoot please? |

If that's the case, and you can't even run the less demanding algorithms for chroma upscaling, there must be other settings you're using that are maxing out your 1080Ti. |

Hello madshi, I am wondering if you checked the mpv area these days.
There were a lot of huge improvements: - Nnedi3 shaders based on MPDN ones are really faster than on madVR. - Igv's single-pass AdaptiveSharpen variant is really better and faster than madVR one. - Igv's SSimSuperRes variant based on MPDN one is totally destroying SuperRes upscale enhancer in madVR. - Bjin's RAVU prescaler/doubler is easily 4x faster (test/ravu-r3-smoothtest1.hook) than NGU-AA High with same/better result. I would like to know your opinion about it and see performance improvements in the next madVR build. I tested your madCustomRes standalone application and it really works as expected. I don't know what is the optimize button for, it would be great to explain. EDIT: I am not trolling. Last edited by foozoor; 14th August 2017 at 14:17. |

With this pc
Cpu i5 3600 Ram 12 giga Gt 730 with 2 giga video card I would use codes and madVR to see SD to 1080p, 720 to 1080p and 1080p to 1080p on a 42 inch lcd led fulhd Would i have a good result or the gt 730 is too weak to have good results? thank you |

I have just used dropbox for the first time as they dont allow you to post images so eaily on this thread, I hope this works for you....
Im upscaling all my BDs to 4K and use the 1080Ti card. I use NGU high for luma upscaling with low render times and without any dropped frames as long as I use Nnedi 128 or lower for chroma upscaling. If I try to use NGU for chroma upscaling, or anything else except Nnedi 128, the render times go sky high plus frames are dropping like dead flies! What do you think is going on here please, I am at my wits end trying to understand whats wrong???? I have tested this also on 1080p and the same thing happens... Below is after playing on JRiver for approx 5mins... No dropped frames with Chroma upscaling @ Nnedi128 & Luma upscaling with NGU sharp high https://www.dropbox.com/home/madvr?p...s+(Medium).JPG Many dropped frames and high rendering with Chroma upscaing on NGU and Luma upscaling on NGU sharp high https://www.dropbox.com/home/madvr?p...PED+FRAMES.JPG Last edited by 70MM; 15th August 2017 at 01:05. |

I would clear drivers with DDU, reinstall, reset Madvr, and recreate profiles. |

1) His real world job takes priority as it pays the bills. 2) He doesn't plan on taking donations until he hits at leas madVR 1.0. Even so, refer back to #1 He'll have something special for us all in a few day or weeks. Patience is needed. Last edited by cyberscott; 15th August 2017 at 02:55. Reason: Spelling |
