Yeah, I have noticed some pretty bad vertical patterning in some scenes. It seems as though either ffdshow or more than likely one of the RipBot tools (x264) is running into some issues.

edit: By the way which version of ffdshow do you recommend. I've been using THIS one for years now.
I noticed some artifacts in a few of my encodes lately. After having uninstalled and reinstalled ffdshow. It seems after uninstalling again and updating to a newer version of ffdshow, the artifacts went away. I run a CoreI7, and it is stable as well so I know that isnt the problem. So try updating ffdshow and then re-encoding. Should fix it.

Did you check the source file that you used does the same? I see that your log show me an mkv hd movie. I've experience samething issue and it was the source movies. Check the time and compare with your source movie that you converted from.

I read that a new version of RipBOt will be released this month. I wanted to knw a few things please.

1. Can it be added or is there another program that can allow me to try different filters to achieve an outcome and then let me see side by side a comparision of the original source and the encoded/filtered output to see the change. I believe Lord Muldar had a GUI that did that...I just never went further in using it, since I've likened RipBot.

2. Is there a repository of Avisynth filters in a location with a description of their purpose. Then What would be the procedure to add them to Ripbot. Currently the one filter that is included in RipBot..causes an error whenever I try to use it.

Thanks

Source is fine. I re-encoded movie after updating x264 and reinstalling ffdshow, Haali. However hate to watch the movie again just to look for glitches. Probably get my roomate to do it.

Thanks for an amazing tool!

I have 2 questions:

1. I seem to have consistent audio sync problems. I am converting Australian recorded tv in mpeg2 format into mp4 with ACC 128 audio. I always need to tweak the sync setting in ripbot +/- 100ms.

Is this normal? Or should it just be in sync? I never had this issue with the same files when converting to avi/xvid.

2. Would you ever consider adding the option for high bitrate AAC audio settings? I know you don't think it matters but I am quite the audiophile and on good speakers I can hear the compression. The input formats I use rarely have AC3 (and even then I want to downsample to 2.0 - not keep 5.1) so keeping that setting is not a solution. I would really like the option of 256-320 AAC audio. That would be perfect!

Anyway - thanks for all your hard work with this program!

One suggestion: Add ability to change aspect ratio

Thansk!

I had similar problem with ffmpeg-mt..

This was my problem:

When i upload an encoded movie to youtube... at some points in the movie it would appear like gray.. and it lasts for a few seconds..

but when i would view the movie on my PC it would not show gray instead it would freeze completely on those seconds.

So i set to 1 like you show and it worked good.. but now i am using ffdshow 3397 from 2 May 2010 and libavcodec so its working with 8 threads.. i don't know the difference between ffmpeg-mt and libavcodec so it does not matter what i use then.. as long as the result is looking good..

Atak, is it possible to use FFT3DFilter with RipBot264? If so, what will be the sample syntax? I tried it but it didn't work :\

FFT3DGPU is still used in RipBot when using filters for film or anime.

I wonder what encoder settings I should use for encoding 1080p DXVA compliant live action movie? I don't care about the time it takes to encode, just that it's DXVA compliant and max quality.

Use default 4.0 profile. Adjust SUBPIXEL REFINEMENT to 10. Adaptive B-Frames switch to 2.

I tried to encode from x264 Demo Blue-Ray and i noticed this pixel errors in the encoded mkv:

The error appears for 1 second or 2.. when its switching from an frame to another a small part of the old frame is moved to the new..

Probably i am doing something wrong or it is ffdshow error again..

I know but I disabled FFT3DGPU and edited the script, it says syntax error or something but the format isn't right. So I'm wondering how Atak will write a syntax for his RipBot264 to use FFT3DFilter.

Any idea Atak?
