Calmart, you really shock me One frame video and flipped video...
Let me do some check with a "1 frame" video sample like yours. About flipped video, you should ask in AviSynth section, because AVStoDVD does not add any instruction like that. Bye |

MrC,
perhaps I'm configuring AVStoDVD incorrectly for the audio encoding, but it seems to be choking while Aften is needed to encode the audio. The source is an m2ts of the In the Name of the King movie. I've tried three different times..using the original m2ts from the Bluray with DTS-HD audio, that m2ts remuxed with TSMuxer whilst downconverting that DTS-Master to DTS, and also a BD-Rebuilder output which was a BD-9 with 640 kbps AC3 audio. All three errored in Aften stating something about error allocating buffer? @ frame 0?? I should've saved a screenshot of the Aften command window, but thought it would show up in the AVStoDVD log, which it didn't... Below is the latest log, not sure if you know what may be going wrong or what I may be misconfiguring. I remember you mentioning to me how AVStoDVD is superior to ConvertXtoDVD which I normally use, and on this 2 hour 45 minute film I thought I'd give it a full encoding attempt. The m2v produced by HCEnc does look far better than the ConvertX output... just if I can get AVStoDVD to get Aften to to worlk on the audio?? The version of Aften in BD-Rebuilder works fine on the m2ts fles regardless of which audio format as a source. <4/17/2009 2:50:50 AM> START PROCESS <> <4/17/2009 2:50:50 AM> DVD SETTINGS DVD Titles number: 1 DVD Video Standard: NTSC DVD Chapters Interval: 5 min DVD Menu: Static DVD Menu DVD Size: 4435/4435 MB (100%) DVD Output Setup: DVD Folder Delete Temp Process Files: Yes Delete Working Files: Yes Edit Command Parameters: No Save Log file: Yes Output Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\My Videos\test <> <4/17/2009 2:50:50 AM> TITLE 1 SOURCE FILES Video: J:\FULL_BluRay\IN_NAME_OF_KING\BDMV\STREAM\00013.m2ts Info: AVC - 0 kbps - 1920x1080 - DAR 1.778 - 23.976 fps - PPF - 2:42:10 hours - 233543 frames Audio: J:\FULL_BluRay\IN_NAME_OF_KING\BDMV\STREAM\00013.m2ts Info: DTS-HD - 0 kbps - VBR - 48000Hz - 6ch - 2:42:20 hours Subs: [MediaInfoLib - v0.7.10] <> <4/17/2009 2:50:50 AM> AVISYNTH SCRIPT Import("C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\Downloaded Files\AVStoDVD_214_NoInstall\Lib\A2DSource.avsi") Video = A2DVideoSource("J:\FULL_BluRay\IN_NAME_OF_KING\BDMV\STREAM\00013.m2ts", CacheFolder = "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp") Video = Video.ConvertToYV12 #Using DGPulldown to upsize FPS Video = Video.Lanczos4Resize(720,480) Audio = GetChannel(A2DAudioSource("J:\FULL_BluRay\IN_NAME_OF_KING\BDMV\STREAM\00013.m2ts", CacheFolder = "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp"), 1, 3, 2, 5, 6, 4) AudioDub(Video, Audio) <> <4/17/2009 2:50:50 AM> START VIDEO ENCODING OPERATIONS Encoding Profile: HCenc VBR 2-pass Target Video FileSize: 4068.2 MB HCenc Parameters: -ini "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.HCenc.ini" HCenc ini file: *INFILE C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.avs *AVSRELOAD *OUTFILE C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\My Videos\test\00013_0_Title_01.m2v *LOGFILE C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.HCenc.log *MAXBITRATE 9000 *BITRATE 3507 *PROFILE BEST *ASPECT 16:9 *PROGRESSIVE *BIAS 40 *DC_PREC 8 *MATRIX MPEG *AQ 1 *LUMGAIN 0 *SMP *PRIORITY IDLE *WAIT 2 <> <4/17/2009 6:32:34 AM> END VIDEO ENCODING OPERATIONS Created File: C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\My Videos\test\00013_0_Title_01.m2v (4073.4 MB) OUTPUT VIDEO INFO: MPEG-2 Video - 3567 kbps - 720x480 - DAR 1.778 - 23.976 fps - PPF - 2:42:10 hours - 233293 frames <> <4/17/2009 6:42:02 AM> END PULLDOWN OPERATIONS DGPulldown executed on File: C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\My Videos\test\00013_0_Title_01.m2v (4073.4 MB) OUTPUT VIDEO INFO: MPEG-2 Video - 3564 kbps - 720x480 - DAR 1.778 - 29.97 fps - PPF - 2:42:19 hours - 291906 frames <> <4/17/2009 6:42:02 AM> START AUDIO ENCODING OPERATIONS Wavi (WAV) Parameters: "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.avs" "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.wav" Aften (AC3) Parameters: -b 192 "C:\DOCUME~1\MBKSYS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\00013_0_Title_01.wav" "C:\Documents and Settings\MBK SYS\My Documents\My Videos\test\00013_0_Title_01.ac3" <>

thanks anyways but it appears that I won't need your help afterall to make a nice DVD version of this long BD movie 'In the Name of the King'.... ConvertXtoDVD does a fine job on shorter movies.... Would have been nice if AVStoDVD worked for me all the way thru though, because it would be a lot easier to use... maybe I'll give it another try down the line, but it really sucks when it runs for 4 hours using HCEnc then chokes with aften...

@MikeyBK
Be careful when muxing the AC3 output from BD: you said that its bitrate is 640 kbps, which is not DVD-compliant (max is 448 kbps). For max compliance you should re-encode audio @ 448 kbps. Before starting an AVStoDVD project, mainly if it could be last for a long time, it is always better to run the Preview Clip section. For example, if you have not correctly configured your directshow audio mixer (i.e. ffdshow), then an AviSynth error message will be prompted. That could be a reason of Aften crashing in AVStoDVD. I'm currently now trying it with 448 kbps AC3 in that m2ts... will let you know if that was it. As for the audio mixer in FFDSHOW, it is set how it came as default. Do I need to configure it differently for aften to work with AVStoDVD? Aften in BD-RB doesn't seem to have any issues with any of the audios for me?

I am trying to process an m2v file and make it smaller through AVStoDVD, and I am getting an upside down image.
This is not the first time I get this upside image with this program. On other times it did show an upside image when previewing title output, but the final output was fine. This time is the opposite: the preview looks fine, but the output is upside down. The log file is this: <25/04/2009 0:03:59> START PROCESS <> <25/04/2009 0:03:59> DVD SETTINGS DVD Titles number: 1 DVD Video Standard: NTSC DVD Size: 4143/4435 MB (93%) DVD Output Setup: MPEG2 Streams Delete Temp Process Files: Yes Delete Working Files: Yes Edit Command Parameters: No Save Log file: Yes Output Folder: C:\tmp <> <25/04/2009 0:03:59> TITLE 1 SOURCE FILES Video: D:\---\---.m2v Info: MPEG-2 Video - 5584 kbps - 720x480 - DAR 1,778 - 29,97 fps - PPF - 1:58:11 hours - 212543 frames Audio: Info: Subs: [MediaInfoLib - v0.7.8] <> <25/04/2009 0:03:59> AVISYNTH SCRIPT Import("C:\video\AVStoDVD\Lib\A2DSource.avsi") Video = A2DVideoSource("D:\---\---.m2v", CacheFolder = "C:\DOCUME~1\cem\CONFIG~1\Temp") Video = Video.ConvertToYV12 Video = Video.Lanczos4Resize(720,480) Return Video <> <25/04/2009 0:03:59> START VIDEO ENCODING OPERATIONS Encoding Profile: HCenc VBR 2-pass Target Video FileSize: 4142,6 MB HCenc Parameters: -ini "C:\DOCUME~1\cem\CONFIG~1\Temp\The Replacements.demuxed_1_Title_01.HCenc.ini" HCenc ini file: *INFILE C:\DOCUME~1\cem\CONFIG~1\Temp\---.demuxed_1_Title_01.avs *AVSRELOAD *OUTFILE C:\tmp\---.demuxed_1_Title_01.m2v *LOGFILE C:\DOCUME~1\cem\CONFIG~1\Temp\---.demuxed_1_Title_01.HCenc.log *MAXBITRATE 9000 *BITRATE 4900 *PROFILE BEST *ASPECT 16:9 *PROGRESSIVE *BIAS 50 *DC_PREC 9 *MATRIX MPEG *AQ 1 *LUMGAIN 0 *SMP *PRIORITY IDLE *WAIT 2 <> <25/04/2009 1:24:07> END VIDEO ENCODING OPERATIONS Created File: C:\tmp\---.demuxed_1_Title_01.m2v (4148,3 MB) OUTPUT VIDEO INFO: MPEG-2 Video - 4987 kbps - 720x480 - DAR 1,778 - 29,97 fps - PPF - 1:58:11 hours - 212544 frames <> <25/04/2009 1:24:07> Log file created by AVStoDVD Release 2.1.3 <> What can I do? |

IMO there is some kind of codec misconfiguration. I suggest you to uninstall *every* video codec and splitter you have installed and try only with a stable ffdshow release.
If you get again the error, then send me (avstodvd@gmail.com) a short sample of your video file. Did you search into Doom9 forum for a similar issue? Bye |

I have installed Avisynth 2.58 and also the DirectShowSource_2587 update. A simple Version AVS script is working fine and is showing the correct version number in WMP.
I have downloaded AVStoDVD_214_NoInstall.7z and unpacked it in a dedicated folder. But when I run it it keeps on saying that Avisynth is not found. I have reinstalled Avisynth and also the DirectShowSource update but that didn't help, AVStoDVD still can't find Avisynth. But Version.avs is still working fine. Windows XP 32 bits Avisynth is in C:\Program Files\Avisynth AVStoDVD is in E:\Test\Video\AVStoDVD Any ideas why AVStoDVD can't find Avisynth ? |

@calmart
for broken codecs, follow MysticE suggestion () for uploading large files, you can use mediafire.com @Brazil2 AVStoDVD checks if in the win registry the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AviSynth" is present and if it contains the string "AviSynth". Could you please check it manually and report back? BTW you can skip software integrity control routine by disabling AVStoDVD spash screen ('Settings'/'Misc') Bye |

There was only one I couldn't repair or find the dll of, not even looking for it on the web. It should be video compressor codec called cmiccodc.dll But I went a different way with that film, using HCgui and avisynth. Thanks anyway. |

Please you could tell me how this registry key is exactly supposed to be ? Export this registry key and post it as a Code part maybe ? But that doesn't help because Avisynth still appears as not found in the software list. |

@Brazil2
On a correct AviSynth installation, key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AviSynth" should have a default value like this: "C:\Program files\AviSynth 2.5" (this is what AVStoDVD checks) and a "plugindir2_5" value like this: "C:\Program files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins" Even if you get the warning that AviSynth is not found, you can ignore it and continue using AVStoDVD Bye |

I don't know why they weren't there, maybe because I have changed the default installation folder from "AviSynth 2.5" to "AviSynth" ? It might be a bug in the Avisynth installer. Anyway thanks for the info |
