Totally forgot about this thread, although it is OT, but it's nice to talk about the past. No, we were okay without electricity or gas or tap water. We used firewood instead of gas, petroleum lantern/lamps instead of candles, well instead of tap water. Being in the tropical area, hot water for bath is not mandatory. The one which always got to me pretty hard was heat, I couldn't sleep when it was hot, so I slept outside of the house most of the times during dry season. Having modern facilities since you are born probably set your standard pretty high
, it is okay to live off grid, even now I want to do it again, although I'll have solar panels etc if I will ever do off grid living.
