How to create rainbowing and dotcrawling?

Hi,

I want to recreate the rainbowing and dotcrawl artefact present in older video. Is there any filter for AviSynth which (either intentionally or unintentionally) can do this?

A doom9 user created something called dotcrawlplus a few years ago but there weren't any results shown on actual video footage and I couldn't get it to work for some reason so I want to look for alternative ways.

Is anyone knowledged on the cause of the rainbowing on older video and how we might emulate this?

Thanks.
