@ jdobbs RE: Zero Dark Thirty Quote: Well, I'm confused. I looked at the SUP stream that is in the backup and the forced_on_flag is very definitely set. So I have no idea why it isn't always displaying.

I just checked my backup copy (full backup BD25 using 0.43.04), and the subs are being played back correctly using TMT 5.0 (5.01.114), and also oppo 93. I did not have to manually select anything to get it to display.

I tested it and a full backup works for me too. I'm still trying to figure out why it isn't working on a movie-only backup. It seems to only "sometimes" work...

It's weird. Same error occurs with DVDAuthorGUI and DVD_Rebuilder which both require mscomctl.ocx. Running REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT (as Administrator) in BD-RB does not help.
Possibly the problem came with the installation of Office 2013 which comes with ist own (newer?) mscomctl.ocx, or recent OS update. Does this make sense?

I guess it could, but it'd be very unusual for an updated OCX to not remain compatible.

Try opening a command window in administrator mode -- and cut/past the command from REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT into the window (or type it in). I seem to remember a report once in which that was the only way that person could get it to register.

But... if the problem is MSCOMCTL, you should get a very specific error message that tells you that.

You are using all the versions that are linked in the first post of this thread, right?

This was it! I had to copy the mscomctl.ocx manually into the \system32\ and \SysWOW64\ directories, and then get it to register via the command window in administrator mode.

The first one will work and so will the last one. This will work too:

AUDIO_AMPLIFY=N

Please note that with normalization enabled you will see a significant pause at the beginning of the audio encode as the stream is scanned for peaks.

Wow. Is that a commercial disc? It's certainly a legal format, I have yet to have ever run across a 1440x1080 source. I'll have to create one and test it.

Is it actually possible to define something like an output folder for the .iso file and something like an Multiplexing folder.

I would do the following:
1) Extract from Movie (HDD) to Working folder (SSD)
2) Reencoding in Working folder (SSD)
3) Multiplexing from Working folder (SSD) to HDD
4) Create ISO File from HDD to SSD

If I do like this don't I get the best performance?

I just ran into the same issue. Thanks for the hint. Maybe something with the latest MS Patchday?

@Ch3vr0n

I'm guessing those errors are coming from DGDecNV. I'm confused, though, because the picture doesn't seem to match the log. One says it crashed during indexing, and the other looks like it tried to encode.

Let me know what happens when you use LAVF.

Sure is, part of the Masters of Cinema series. It's the second disc I've seen with files in that format.

The lavf build went through normally. I'll run another dgenc this evening and let you know

Verstuurd van mijn HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e met Tapatalk

** edit ** looks like it was a one-off fluke. Encoding video 17/33 atm and the problematicone was 12/33. Will add another update if the build goes through completely

** edit 2 ** One-off confirmed. DGenc rebuild ran just fine. guess you can forget about this one. If it ever happens again i'll let ya know. I did notice a small thing that's probably not relevant to the issue.

the LAVF build came out at 22.1GB while the DGenc build came out at 22.3GB. could you shed some light on this

Source files have a resolution of 1440x1080 (23.976p) and an Aspect Ratio of 16:9.
On the backup, files have a resolution of 1440x1080 (23.976p) and an Aspect Ratio of 4:3. The image looks horizontally squashed.
Is your source anamorphic? If so, it should be encoded with --sar 4:3; you may try this via the tweak option in BD-RB.

There are limits to how accurate encoding can be. That's one of the reasons why I reserve a small size margin in the target. I assume the log shows they both were encoded with the same bitrate, right?

The encode bitrate is shown in the log just before the encode starts.
