Good morning,

There seems to be an issue with the rotation feature, as when a content is reloaded (using ctrl+e for example) or a new content is loaded, it is displayed with its original orientation though the rotation value is kept, as requesting a new clockwise rotation decreases the previous z angle of 90° rather than setting it to 270°. It would seem more logical to either reset the rotation value to 0 or apply the transformation to the display of the content, wouldn't it ?

Also, there does not appear to exist a command for rotating the display through the window handle API, or I am missing it ?

The reason for all these questions is that rotation infos in exif data of jpg are ignored (as they are by ffmpeg and the jpeg lav demuxer), so a display rotation is needed to watch them in the right position.

Thanks.

That does sound like a bug but there should be a workaround in your case.

Consider losslessly rotating your JPGs before displaying them using something such as jpegtran, exiftran, pingo, etc.

I have fixed the issue with the rotation value not resetting on reload.

MPC-HC is a video player. It is not an full featured image viewer. DirectShow is not suitable for that.

Thanks.
I know that mpc-hc, as most video players, have to cope with limitations when displaying pictures, such as memory constraints, but for old digital camera photos in small resolution, the jinc algorithm of madvr does a very pretty job, sharp but without ringing.

I just upgraded to the latest version and I noticed that using the /fullscreen flag for video streams no longer works. In the changelog it says this now only works for video files. Does anyone know if there is a way to get video streams to open in fullscreen through a launch parameter now?

I have been experiencing an issue when an audio track is delayed for some big amount, the video doesn't want to start until I click on the seekbar. This is using a mkv container, I'm not sure it's an issue on MPC-HC or LAVFilters though.

@feel
MPC-HC does not contain a finesharp shader by default. So whatever filter you are using might not be compatible.

@Homeless
Try with version 1.9.8.21

@dogway
Try increasing the queue sizes in LAV Splitter.

1.9.7 was able to play:

http://www.memoryradio.de:5000/

1.9.8 shows "can not render file"

Best regards

. Thanks, jpegtran works fine, though it does not support stdin on windows, so I used named pipes. I then realized that the built-in rotation could be used by sending the corresponding key code (881 and 882).

. Thank you, I confirm it now works correctly.

I am very grateful for all your help, I was able to achieve the DLNA wrapper with a combination of copydata, command and control messages (https://github.com/PCigales/DLNAmpcRenderer) to make up for missing features in the API.

Blame the German "media lobby court" (Landgericht Hamburg) claiming international jurisdiction...

MPC-HC 1.9.8 and newer broke BDAV/BDMV network (?) playback.
MPC-HC 1.9.7 true
MPC-HC 1.9.8
And you can remove "***" from recent files?
It's hard to know what the file name is.

I'm having a audio desync issue with the latest stable build 1.9.8 . The audio starts desyncing after about a few minutes or so of playing and the only way I have found to sync the audio and video back up is to use the seekbar. There are no dropped frames or anything like that. The file plays as it should in all other aspects.

For voidtools Everything I want to change UI colors making it dark like most other apps I use.

So I tried changing the main menu colors using a tool called Classic Color Panel but it does not work unfortunately.

Has anybody managed to customize classic Win32 UI colors in the latest Windows 10 versions?

I updated to the latest nightly MPC-HC to test the latest version MPC-BE audio renderer and its not working, app (crashes) is not responding upon playing any video.
Only "standalone_filters-mpc-be.1.5.1.x64" version of the audio renderer is working. 1.5.1 is old, yet I suspect there's extra feature in the new one, at least this works.

Someone wrote here not long ago that latest version was working, it's not.

You need a recent SVN build of the audio renderer. That fixes the hang bug.

I tried it now (Nightly standalone_filters-mpc-be.1.5.5.5274.x64), it still crashes/hangs. Back to 1.5.1 and its working again. Is there noticeable difference between those 2 versions? I know 1.5.1 is old but its rock stable and does true exclusive.
