washed out colors

i've been using potplayer+madvr. worked fine for years. for some reason my colors are washed out now. i have madshi selected in video renderer, when i hit control J it says NV HDR, when i open and close my video file my display does switch in and out of HDR mode. i'm using the latest madvr and potplayer. any ideas why this isn't working properly?

Sounds to me like you're using one of the broken Nvidia drivers. The very latest one from two days ago works great again. Try that and report back.

Did Windows update your video driver in the last couple days and now you need to reconfigure because it's handling HDR differently?
If so, that's one reason why I don't let Windows auto-update drivers for me.
As VBB mentioned, the latest Nvidia driver fixed HDR passthrough, so I'd imagine it works drastically different for some people depending on their configuration.
