X264vfw codec disappears from VirtualDub
Hello to all
I like VirtualDub very much and it`s many years that I am using it. My PC is running Win8.1 x64 and version of VirtualDub is 1.10.4-64bit. I recently encounter into a problem: I have used x264vfw64 codec to encode videos.(can be downloaded from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264..._2453bm_40246/) It was working perfect but now after 3-4 months, when I want to use it again, the x264vfw codec disappears from the VirtualDub`s Video->Compression`s list. I can see other codec like "Xvid MPEG-4 codec" in virtualDub`s list. I uninstalled and reinstalled this codec and also checked the programs which I had installed since the last use and uninstalled the suspicious ones (in case of a conflict) but it doesn`t fixed. I also searched this problem on web and checked the registry where other people advises: Computer\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\drivers.desc Computer\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 There where no empty registry or some other problems (which I can figure out) in these registry paths. also no registry key related to x264 codec exists in following registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaResources\icm Is this the problem? if yes what should I write in here? Please help me with this problem. Thank you very much. |

First of all install the latest version (40_2491bm_40895) in which there was changes in installer to fix problems with short path usage in Win 8.x (where short path generation looks like was disable by default) and x86 and x64 versions was merged in one installer.
