Can movie players use and utilize a processing power of 3080?

Attached is RTX 3080 white paper

Can movie players use and utilize a processing power of 3080?

are the 3080 processing commands suitable for the player?

MPC-HC
MPC-BE x64
PotPlayer 64 bit

which processor should I buy that could be good for player software commands ?

Can your software work on AVX2 or AVX512
Or AVX ?

there are no consumer CPU with AVX512 yet.
the performance benefit from AVX512 is very questionable on the HEDT and SERVER CPU that support it (not unusual for first time implementations). these are called SIMD BTW.

yes modern codes in ffmpeg support the decoding using AVX2/AVX maybe even AVX512 for many many years now.
but that not as important because GPU have "commands" for 'H265 to do the decoding for free and that such high speeds that CPU decoding simply can't compete. so you get the same answer for your CPU as before doesn't really matter for video playback it'S a trivial task a modern GPU with modern codec support is far more important.

ampare doesn't really add new "commands" it pretty much just more cores if you really want to hear a new "command" it would be AV1 decode. which will be available as soon as a card is available (still needs development time obviously).

yes madVR call use a 3080.

3080 will benefit from what? Does it have different processing languages?
Or just AV1?

and video cards in AMD 6900 movies released in November
is anything worth it for movies?
i do not get picture quality or sound!
just more noises in the picture!
feels the commands in the player are not related to GPU processors or addresses are correct.

the madVR command set takes power up to 95% of the GPU but does not give image quality !!!
more image destroyer
sound does not help either

Use VLC. It's a good video player, especially for beginners (but not only).

Btw, no video card will make a movie better. You don't need any GPU to watch movies/videos. You buy a video card for gaming.

to my haters I would not touch this player
One of the worst players in the world .

the player plays everything at the worst level

absolutely not true - a quality video card can enhance video
your players - have not switched to advanced processing commands of AMD or Intel

So many filters do not work as they did 15 years ago in the same players
a lot of filters destroy the the movie

All modern players, including VLC, are able to use AVX2 instructions. But those are CPU instructions and thus only have effect on software decoding performance. They don't matter for performance if you use hardware accelerated decoding using your graphics card (GPU). And they certainly do not have any effect on quality at all.

In case of modern video formats, the decoder does not have any effect on quality. They should all give equal quality as defined in the format specification.

The main thing that effects the quality of playback is the video renderer. The algorithms that are used for scaling the video and upscaling the chroma. Plus any optional algorithms for postprocessing such as debanding and noise removal.

If you want best quality you should use madVR as video renderer. With a player such as MPC-HC.
