You can just run BD-RB from that new, unzipped file. Or, you could copy only the configuration settings from your previous unzipped file to the new folder if you want to keep your old settings.

First of all: GREAT PROGRAM

I just tried to Backup Pelham_123 and BD Rebuilder failed to reencode 04999.m2ts
Code:
 - [10:39:16] Reencoding: VID_04999 (6 of 20)
 - [10:39:16] Collecting video information
   - Source Video: MPEG-4 (AVC), 1920x1080
   - Rate/Length: 23,976fps, 720 frames
   - Bitrate: 4.316 Kbs
 - [10:39:16] Reencoding: VID_04999, Pass 1 of 2
  - Encode failed.  Retrying.
  - Encode failed.  Retrying.
  - Reached retry limit.  Aborting.
Same thing with "The ugly truth", same file name, same size.
I first suspected ffdshow, so I reinstalled it, but no success.

Arcsoft Mediaplayer gives me "unsupported file type" on the file and VLC player at least starts to play but without video, total length about 27:40 and stops playing at 3:35.

I did several backups until now, but none had that file.

Is there any strange codec, that has to be installed?
Am I the only one with that problem?
What am I missing?

1. Did you install the exact support programs from the first post of this thead?

2. Run INSPECT.EXE and post your results.

3. When posting logs -- I need to see the whole thing...

This is a BD Rebuilder bug thread. There is no "Pro" version of BD Rebuilder. If you're talking about DVD Rebuilder, I'd recommend you download the fully installable version. The "update" zips are only meant for those who are very familiar with DVD-RB and have extremely low download speeds.

1080i to 720

Not sure if this is a bug, or if I misundersand something.

My source is BD, 1080i, 25fps, MBAFF. (The video is actually progressive, the fields are identical i.e. no temporal shift between pairs of fields)
I resize with BD-RB to 720. If my understandig is right, blu-ray spec requires 'progressive@50fps' for 720 resolution.

BD-RB script:
Code:
#Created by BD Rebuilder - v0.34.04 (beta)
DirectshowSource("K:\......\00003.m2ts", fps=25, framecount=175445, audio=false)
ConvertToYV12()
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\VIDEO\BD_Rebuilder\tools\decomb521.dll")
FieldDeinterlace()
LanczosResize(1280,720).ChangeFPS(50)
ConvertToYV12().AssumeFPS(25000,1000)
I understand that
- ChangeFPS(50) duplicates every frame to obtain the 50fps (350890 frames) for blu-ray compliancy for 720p, keeping the playback duration same as original.
- AssumeFPS(25000,1000) frameserves the duplicated frames to the enocoder at 25fps.

The encoded video stream (VID_00003.AVS.264) is eeventually reported as 720 progressive@25fps. Is this blue-ray compliant? Progressive is ok, but shouldn't it be 50 fps to comply with blu-ray specs? (In former versions of BD-RB the AssumeFPF(25000/1001) was not included..... IIRC.)

Secondly, perhaps beyond the scope: the frame duplication as above slows the encoding process down significantly (2x).
What about the alternative of just slowing down audio, video and sups to blu-ray compliant 24000/10001 in order to avoid the frame duplication? I personally wouldn't mind the slight audio pitch shift.

Not sure what changed from 33.02 to 33.04 but what ever it was the disc's no longer play in my Sharp player but they still play in my Panasonic player. I just purchased the sharp player and all disc's that were compressed up to v33.02 play in the Sharp but none play that were done with 33.04. I even tried the strick option and re-compressed and burned and its a no go. Any ideas let me know? These are movie only and DVD9.

That's definitely a bug. The "AssumeFPS()" is incorrect. As for the 50fps... I think what I'll do is use the new pulldown feature in X264 to double the framerate. That way you'll just encode the original, but the playback will double the rate. I'll have to test that to see how it works, though.

Sorry about OTing this thread, but whenever I do a search on *any* topic, this thread *always* shows up. In fact it was the only one that showed up.
With the zip you can just replace the existing files in the DVD-RB directory.

When I say "Update" it means the newest version. The full install is an "update" as well, only to everything, the zip file just contains the files that changed (those that were updated) that's why it is called "updates only".

Ok, thanks. In the meantime the encode has finished and the video plays at half speed (the duplicated frames), whereas the audio is at regular speed. File size is about double size a s well.
Your new proposal sounds promising as it will also reduce the encoding time accordingly, I presume. I will be glad to test it

Is there a problem with Sony BluRays?
What would AnyDVD do different than DVDFab?

I don't know if it's the problem in your case. But your symptoms are unusual. Go back through this thread and you'll see lots of instances where AnyDVD works and DVDFab doesn't.

Your new proposal sounds promising as it will also reduce the encoding time accordingly, I presume. I will be glad to test it
@jdobbs
--pulldown double seems to be the perfect solution in this case (1080i@25fps -> 720p@50 fps). I just have to finalize the running encode, burn it and play it on the standalone for verification.

jdobbs, any idea what has changed from 33.02 to 33.04 all movies done in movie only no longer play on my Sharp player. I was going to try it again with 33.02 but it no longer works. Any ideas I even selected strict in the setup but it did not work either. Thanks.

The only change that could have any affect might be the updated X264 and the Open GOP support. You may want to try disabling Open GOP support from the SETUP menu -- but if that truly is the problem it would indicate a bug in the Sharp player, not X264. Open GOP as implemented in X264 (with the bluray parameter) should be supported by the Blu-Ray standard. I'd say the odds are low for that... have you changed anything else on your system or player setup?

I will re-run it again with the GOP unselected. Nothing has changed they just stopped working with 33.04 they do still work on the Panasonic so they are good but the Sharp does not like something it is seeing. I will let you know after it gets done and I test it. Thanks.
