Rumor : Intel Core i7 9700k and i9 9900k incoming

New specs for the two 8 core CPUs have surfaced. They are for the z390 platform and might be compatible with z370.

Both will be soldered directly to the heatspeader cover.

i7 9700k is 8c/8t

i9 9900k is 8c/16 that self boosts to 5ghz and is overclockable to 5.5ghz

Pretty impressive, it seems Intel is taking the competition seriously finally.

Slightly related there were AMD leaks this week that pointed to going beyond 8 cores for the am4 socket. I'm hoping for 12 cores myself. Perhaps Intel knows this?

You do not have to have corporate spies to know what you can expect from 7nm in AMD cpus. (12C + higher clocks)
