x262 MPEG-2 encoder in commercial DVD production?

Hi. I think I've found a DVD I bought, which was encoded with x262.

The movie is "L'ULTIMA NOTTE DI AMORE" (2023). This is the mediainfo:

Given how widespread x262 is in Italy I wouldn't be surprised.
What I'm surprised to see though is that they didn't stripe off the writing library as it's generally done instead.

There is something wrong in this report, x264 has never ever created MPEG2 files but H.264/AVC ones...

Yeah, there ain't no in-loop deblocking in MPEG-2!

(sometimes I think of VC-1 as the final spiritual successor of MPEG-2/H.263, with H.264 as the first of a new generation of codec approaches).
