I tried with the build you recommended, but wmv still not playable.

Also with this build, target size is off in Xvid. wanted 700mb, got 500mb.

Using 17a.

It's normal.
Taken from the divx "why do I get undersized file" sticky (same applied to xvid though).

Quote:
Once you get a file that is more than say 50MB under your target filesize, there's a very big chance the movie is 'maxed out'. This means that the codec has used every bit you gave it and has produced a file that is at the maximum quality, and therefor maximum filesize, and it just can't make it any bigger.
Sorry, I can't help you with your other problems though.

@dansus

i tested the OSS build of mencoder with your dvr-ms files and IS broken

while on standard mpeg is working...

btw i have done an update http://www.64k.it/andres/data/a/AutoMen17b.exe

added possibility to add audio to huffy export
compatible with recent mencoder build, for wmv and flv removed "-lavfopts i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_frames" options

I gave 17b a go with mpeg, but the cmd box crashes instantly with OSS build.

With this build, it encodes but isnt playable.

btw i am seriusly thinking about an FFmpeg gui.. but there are a lots of options..

don't know is better to add only the "most inportant" or all... and how handle over 500 switch in a gui...

Yeah, FF drives me nuts with all the settings.

Sometimes you just want a simple way, so maybe a gui with only the most important options would be the way to go. You can always add more later.

If wmv is working for you, it must be a prob my end. I will try to pin it down and let you know.

Would it be possible to get a 60sec mpeg clip that worked for you?

Hi, Buzz!

Something doesn't work as it should when I use AutoMen. It breaks when I want to keep original size on capture I transcode from MPEG2 to AVC+AAC (MP4). It just write mp4.bat and stop.

It have worked to some degree before with autocrop 656, but then mp4create.exe doesn't work to re-mux into mp4 container. I took those part that I could use and put into YAMB instead and then let it create a new MP4 with both sound and video. That worked until now.

So I have two problem. Why doesn't mp4create.exe work as it should to demux and remux into container and why doesn't it work to keep original size work without any other action then to transcode work?

Bat file show every part for autocrop and re-size to be zero, so it must have to be something that doesn't respond well to keep those setting.

@ALL
please update to latest mencoder build (OSS build) link in first post, is a lot more stable!

also the 1.7b is already multithread optimized, just check Thread

Hi Buzz',
with precedent build of mencoder; the cpu(Intel E6600) worked at 70 - 75 %; but with latest mencoder build (OSS build) the cpu worked as single core(50%).
In both cases, i've used AutoMen 1.7b
What happens?

Thanks for your job!!! and continuous development

autmen is just a gui that create and launch bat (make simplified...).

Is mencoder that do the hard work and use the cpu. I am sure that mp4 (x264) is multithreaded, but avi (xvid) not so much...

if you want more speed and cpu use i suggest to search and use a mencoder build optimized for speed and for your processor

the build of mencoder linked is not the fastest but the more stable

a bug ?

I think i have found a bug:
When i set the resolution to:"Original Size" and press start, all the settings are respected to the final movie, but if i want to convert multiple files(QueueIT -> Start all Jobs!)strangely all files converted have as resolution 656 width.
It's a bug o what?
Thanks for future interesting!

P.S.
Core: 1.7b
Input File: .vob (single)
Codec: XviD
VidQuality: More Quality (10) = Less Speed 2Pass
AudQuality: Lame 128

buzzqw: Like the program. Since I keep my files on a media center I don't really care about filesize. I would rather tell the software I want a fair/good/great/fantastic picture, set the width and let it run. Any way to do that?

@weaver4

actually not.. you must use both final size and video quality sliders

i can think 4 more quality tick that work on quantitizer ...

i will check
