realized that in your "to-do"-List the demuxing of 3D-MVC Disks is missing...

Ah, thank you. I have the request at my forum but haven't added it to the todo list. Will do.

Great to see you back, redbtn. Great contributions, thank you so much. I'm working on file gaps correction for THD. Monsters University has 135 file segments and is out of sync by 100ms by end of file (with a naive demux). Hat tip, domy. Don't worry, it's all gonna be fine.

Good here, thank you, all testing is appreciated. Thing is, the THD major/minor frame distinction creates kind of GOPs for audio, and when you need to delete an audio frame to keep sync, you have to be careful about it, that is, you have to delete minor frames so you don't hose a full audio GOP.

Painting my walls right now, but trying to multitask. Rock on, my friend, and stay safe y'all.

Released slipstream 22 adding file gaps processing for THD audio. This makes mincemeat of MONSTERS_UNIVERSITY UHD bluray with its 135 M2TS files in the playlist (!), and audio sync is maintained within 2-3ms throughout. Previously, it was out of sync by 100ms by end of stream.

Cool, thanks, redbtn!

Released slipstream 23 adding garbage skipping. Garbage refers to content in a playlist that is outside the range defined by the IN_time of the first M2TS and the OUT_time of the last M2TS. The IN_time of an M2TS need not correspond to the first video access unit of an M2TS. For example, CROUPIER (one M2TS in the playlist) has almost a full minute of colors bars and blackness before the IN_time, and then some more blackness after the OUT_time.

Note: This feature is currently experimental. Please report your results with it.

...I can see you are very busy over there in the development forum...

but I would still like to request one or two items:

it would be very handy to be able to define the names for the extracted streams, like:
"-demux 1011:Video.h264, 1100:Track_1_eng.dts,..."
(this is especially important since spaces in file names make in batch scripts life difficult...)

somehow it doesn't seem be possible to send the cli output to NUL, so that not all kind of stuff is displayed in the cmd window... is there a way?

and, I mentioned it earlier already: an option to extract only core/embeded audio

Thanks!

Got it. Thank you for the requests and reminder. Wanna reach closure on UHD seamless branching for THD audio before doing anything else.

hi
there seems to some kind of bug:
I demux with the cli tool on Win10x64 via batch script; the demuxing seems to run ok; in cmd window I see the "%" running to "100"...

but if I check "demux.txt", I see that it breaks up @ 7%:

and really: the second audio stream shows in MediaInfo only a length of 9-10 min, which roughly fits to 7% of the first audio stream, which is 2h 6min...
there is no error message displayed.

Oy. Batch script, eh? And you don't even tell me your command line or give the script. That's a very FUD-like report.

Please give me EVERYTHING I need to duplicate your issue. No magic wand here, buddy! Be nice, if you want your feature requests to be addressed.

BTW: Big break-through in demuxing THD for UHD seamless branching. Check my forum (if you dare).

... no, no magic wands...
new finding: when I use the GUI on the same streams, it breaks up after 34%...
demux.txt:

I will give you the command-line; it is automatically generated; so, I have to re-run the batch, which takes some time...

edit:
it is running:

let's see what happens... I "discovered" that I added at the end an ">NUL" in the hope that the output to the cmd window will be suppressed;
that might explain the cli error, but not the GUI behavior... strange;
I will let you know what the outcome was.

edit2:
after having removed the ">NUL" at the end of the line the behavior of the cli changed: in demux.txt the mpls-analysis stays... no progress numbers anymore...

You are baffling me. What is broken for you, CLI or GUI? How is it broken? How do I reproduce it? What disk is it and how did you rip it? Keep it simple. Don't use batch for now. Just type a command line manually in CMD.

...ok, without the ">NUL" the script did run through...
why the GUI kind of canceled after 34% (jumped to 100 and ended), I don't know...
I had some other application running, some Java-based... probaly that is something for the "Journal for Unreproducible Results"

Ok, thank you for the update. I appreciate your reports and feature requests and keep them coming!

UHD seamless branching for THD fix is just being prepped for release. So I'll be able to look at other stuff.

If anybody wants to test the new UHD seamless-branched disk TrueHD demuxing algorithm (fixes sync for the case of lots of M2TS files while playing nice with ffmpeg decoding), here is a test version. Put it with DGDemuxGUI and rename it to DGDemux.exe.

http://rationalqm.us/misc/DGDemux_test.exe

Tested successfully with MONSTERS_UNIVERSITY, CARS_2, and TOY_STORY_4. Your feedback will be appreciated.

Extensive discussion (goes on for 21 pages before reaching a solution) of UHD seamless branching starts here:

a quick test: the thd streams/files don't have language markers when the "-nsthd" is used...
