I am not in any way discussing how to get around installing the full ArcSoft package. I have installed the full ArcSoft Total Media Theater Package and I would like the DTS Decoder that is part of that package to work with eac3to under vista x64.
For whatever reason, eac3to does not seem recognize my arcsoft installation. I was only asking what I could do to tweak it to get it to work with eac3to.

Thus, this discussion is completely legal and relevant here.

If it is a false positive, any idea why or how to address this?

Thanks, I see the prior messages. You indicated you would get in touch with Kaspersky. Have you heard anything?

Is the source code for HookSurcode.dll all authored by you?

So obviously I didn't mean your post. I meant monohouse's post.

Not yet. I also posted that it would help if as many people complain as possible. Did you complain yet?

Yes, I've sent Kaspersky a false positive report using the format Kaspersky dictates with a reference to this thread for more info.

With HD DVDs, eac3to gives the option to output joined EVOs. Can we expect to see that for m2ts files also?

If you're talking blu-ray, it already does that.

If we're talking about the same thing, as in a mpls (playlist) file, then yes. Dewey Cox had probably 30 or more pieces, Alien vs Predator 2, had tons of them. About any time you see a movie that has the theatrical version and an unrated version, it will be chopped into all kinds of pieces.

Working line for HD DVDs:

Code:
eac3to\eac3to.exe F:\XXX_HDDVD\HVDVD_TS\PEVOB_1.EVO+F:\XXX_HDDVD\HVDVD_TS\PEVOB_2.EVO Z: "C:\Users\rica\desktop\try\trial.vc1
So most probably the working line would be for m2ts:

Code:
eac3to\eac3to.exe F:\XXX\YYY\00000.m2ts+F:\XXX\YYY\00001.m2ts Z: "C:\Users\rica\desktop\try\trial.h264
(Z here is track number)

I'm so lost, the above example you had will output the two m2ts files joined together, if that's not what you want, then I have no idea what we're talking about anymore.

For the HD DVD example I gave, if you output track #1, it gives you the joined EVO. There is no option to do the same with the 1st example - the Blu-ray. Maybe you missed it without the bold.

eac3to handles BluRay SEAMLESS BRANCHING perfectly by joining the branched files via the corresponding playlist(MPLS). Branching is handled differently between HD-DVD and BluRay but does the same thing. This is common knowledge and has been for quite some time

No one seems to get it.

Going with my example for the HD DVD, typing
Quote:
eac3to sourcefolder 1) 1: output.evo
would produce a joined evo file.

Then with the Blu-ray example, typing
Quote:
eac3to sourcefolder 1) 1: output.m2ts
will extract the chapters to a file named output.m2ts, not a joined m2ts file, because the option is missing.

In this particular case, I don't care about being able to demux any of the streams. I want the whole joined m2ts by way of typing whats in the 2nd quotes.

Really not that hard to understand.

I get it now, my stumbling block, was that I didn't realize that HD-DVD's would combine the two pieces into one muxed file. I've always demuxed the streams I wanted and muxed them back together. It will do what you want, but it requires demuxing everything and then muxing it back.

No. The problem with m2ts multi part movies is that audio often overlaps a little. In order to fix that problem completely I would probably have to write a full featured m2ts muxer. That is not planned. With HD DVD movies it's easier because the audio doesn't overlap. So I just need to join the files and maybe correct a few timestamps. Easy. Not so with Blu-Ray.

You have 2 options:

(1) Either you can let tsMuxeR or TsRemux do the m2ts multipart joining. Neither of them will correct the audio overlaps, though. So the end result may play bumpy on the join points or eventually audio sync will gradually be lost (depends on the media player / splitter).

(2) Or you can let eac3to demux all video and audio tracks. Audio overlaps can then be fixed. Finally you can recreate a new m2ts file by using tsMuxeR or Scenarist.

Kaspersky fixed this, it is no longer reported as containing a Trojan
