PS3 Compatible mkv (few queries)

Hello !
Creating .m2ts files from .mkv without re-encoding is no big deal thanks to this tutorial :
http://www.bitburners.com/articles/c...-tsmuxer/4015/

What I want to know is that :

1) Is it still necessary to convert high@5.1 to high@4.1 because I read somewhere that the new PS3 supports high@5.1 as well. Is it true ?
2) Can I have more than 1 AC3 audio tracks to be able to select the desired one.
3) Can I have more than 1 converted .m2ts files on a single disc ? If yes, how would I go about it ? Will it need separate folders
4) Do I need to include the 'filename.meta' file while creating a disc for each .m2ts file ?
5) I need to burn the disc normally (no UDF settings). Am I right ?
6) Can I have a subtitle track ?
7) Does it support chapters ?
8) Any other precautions ?

I'll be grateful if anyone owing a recent PS3 verifies all the above.

1) I still think that 4.1 is the best you can get to play in PS3. Mine shows just black screen with 5.1.

2) No

3) Yes. It doesn't matter if you use folders.

4) No

5) If files are bigger than 1-2-4GB you'll need UDF 2.5

6) No

7) No

On the other hand, if you use AVCHD format then you can have up to 32 subtitle and 32 audio tracks, chapters, menu, DTS audio, VC-1 video, DTS HD (Master/High Resolution Audio), TrueHD. None of these are supported in simple file playback mode. + You can use external HDD and not be limited by 4.4/7.9GB DVD storage capacity.

Thanks very much for the clarifications Dean !

Firstly, I couldn't get the 5th point. In which cases do I need UDF 2.5 settings ? For eg : I have a single 4Gb and a single 7Gb converted m2ts. And you mean using UDF 2.5 for m2ts muxing (because Blu Ray disk also requires UDF 2.5) ?

Secondly, I cannot create an AVCHD from an mkv file without re-encoding it because the mkv files are mostly cropped and AVCHD supports 1280x720, 1920x1080, etc. Hence I am compelled to resort to this method. Any other way out ?

Lastly, what is the difference b/w high@4.1 &high@5.1. What do we lose in the conversion ?

Try using TsMuxer and telling it to mux to Blu-ray disc instead of M2TS. I do this with MKVs a lot (even ones with obviously non-spec-compliant video) and the PS3 hasn't had an issue playing them yet. I think they were all still a normal resolution, but it's worth a try... That way you can keep your multi-audio and subs, as well as chapters...

PS3 plays 1920x1080p@50fps so this means that 4.2 profile is also supported.
